A Fire on a Pile

"On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a fire on a pile of wood and like a burning torch among freshly cut straw. They will burn up all the surrounding nations to the right and to the left. But the people of Jerusalem will remain safe in Jerusalem.  (Zec 12:6)

God has a covenant with the people of Israel that will come to complete fruition in the near future. The nation of Israel is always in today's news. Many nations around the world have a tremendous hate towards them and will do anything to see their annihilation. Most of the nations which hate Israel are close to it's geographical area and share their borders.  Israel has the land mass of about 8,012 square miles and is home to over 8.2 million Jews. No other nation on the planet has experienced so much animosity. No other nation on Earth has been fought over for land and national existence.

The reason the world hates Israel is because they are the conscience to everyone. Without the nation of Israel, there would have never been the Law of the Lord. The Ten Commandments would have never been declared from the top of Mount Sinai which means the world would not fully understand sin and its destruction. When sin is revealed, evil gets angry. Jesus came into the world not to get rid of the moral and ethical nature of the Law , but to fulfill it.

Mat 5:17-18
(17)  Do not think that I came to annul the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to annul, but to fulfill.
(18)  Truly I say to you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, in no way shall one iota or one point pass away from the Law until all comes to pass.

Israel's existence keeps the world in check and shows us all that there truly is a Divine Being who has created all things. The Prince and the power of the air, Satan, hates this truth more than anyone. He continues to manipulate the unbelievers in the world to do his bidding. Satan will try to spread is evil and lies against Israel but will miserably fail.

Until the Lord returns and even after His return, Israel will continue be the fire on a pile. They will continue to show God's existence and His promises. The world will continue to hate Israel until the very end, but God will continue to project this nation.

What can we do as believers? Pray for the nation of Israel and Pray for the return of Christ.
What else can believers do? We need to become a fire on a pile for the world as well. As we share the truth and the message of Christ, the world will feel the heat from the Fire of God within us.
Why is this so important? Christ is returning soon and the world is moving closer to the abyss of destruction. Believers should more than ever stand up and declare God's truth. It is our destiny.

Be the Fire on a Pile......

Fleece Faith

Judges 6:36-40New King James Version (NKJV)

The Sign of the Fleece

36 So Gideon said to God, “If You will save Israel by my hand as You have said— 37 look, I shall put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will save Israel by my hand, as You have said.” 38 And it was so. When he rose early the next morning and squeezed the fleece together, he wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water. 39 Then Gideon said to God, “Do not be angry with me, but let me speak just once more: Let me test, I pray, just once more with the fleece; let it now be dry only on the fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.” 40 And God did so that night. It was dry on the fleece only, but there was dew on all the ground.

The concept of faith is believing in the impossible when the possible is not available. As believers today, we have the Word of God and His Spirit which guides our faith every day. Sadly, many Christians still live the life of  the Gideon Faith. Gideon had a weak faith, maybe due to his insecurities;nonetheless, he needed to be reassured about God's purpose for his life. He asked God to show him a sign and God through his patience obliged. Gideon did grow up and began to trust the Lord for his life, but He had to see for his own eyes first.
Many believers walk in this Gideon like faith. It is a lazy faith and in some cases has become a superstitious faith. " If God makes the fleece dry then I will believe."  This is called Fleece Faith. Fleece faith puts conditions on God and allows the believer to stay immature in their walk with God. How many times do immature believers put conditions on God? " God give me a sign that my missions trip is your will." How many decisions are made by immature christians based off of their fleece like faith?
Signs of Having A Fleece Faith:
1. A limp prayer life.
2. Ignorant of the Word.
3. Lack of a Bible study life.
4. Lives more off of chance.
5.Needs a sign in order to follow God.
Jesus said something about those who seek for a sign.

Matthew 12:39New International Version (NIV)

39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

We can't afford to have Fleece faith in today's word. We need to have an unshakeable faith and a faith that is mature. It is important that believers simply grow up in the Lord and trust in His goodness.
Overcoming Fleece Faith:
1. Have a continous prayer life.
2. Become a scholar of God's word.
3. Simply know his will for your life.
4. Draw closer to God.

Ghost Army

During World War II, there was an Army Unit called the Ghost Army. They were officially known as the 23rd Headquarters special forces. They stayed virtually unknown until forty years after World War II was over. In 2013, PBS did a documentary on their efforts for the Allied forces. This unit of 1100 men who were made up of artists, actors, engineers, architects, and creative thinkers. The unit would stage fake battlefields and use large speakers to confusion the enemy. Their efforts would detour the German forces away from large Allied forces combative units. Their whole goal was to keep the enemy guessing and deceived from actual fighting forces.

The enemy of our souls has for centuries used tactics of deception towards the body of Christ. He has convinced many in the Body of Christ that his power is great. He has used these tactics to deceive the Saints from walking in the truth and power of the Gospel. It is getting worse and worse within our world today and believers need to be alert more than ever.

Ephesians 6:12King James Version (KJV)
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

2 Timothy 3:13
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

1 Timothy 4:1
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”

How to overcome the Ghost Army:

1. Prayer: Keeping a life of continual prayer is very effective against the enemy.  If your spirit is in constant contact with the spirit of God, then the enemy can not deceive you.
2. Read His word: The bible is the road map and encyclopedia to the truth for the world. Stay engulfed into the word of God.
3. Stay Connected: Believers need believers in order to help fight off the enemy together.
4. Gift of Discernment: The bible speaks about the gift of discernment and how it is used to tell the difference from good and evil. It is important that we tap into that gift each time we encounter attacks from the Ghost Army.
5. Stay Alert: The world is becoming a more hostile place. We have to pay attention to the things that are around us. The coming antichrist will not come under the guise of socialism or Islamic dominance; he will come to the world under the premise of democracy. We have to stay alert no matter what.

Entrusted: Means being assigned responsibility for doing something.

Have you ever been entrusted with something important? Has someone placed something in your hands and depended on you to follow through with it?

I was entrusted with a task many years ago when I was in the Military. I was chosen to be on the color guard team. We had a special ceremony that was going to take place and many important military officers would be at the event. I had to learn how to be in cadence step with the others on the team. We had to carry the flags and some weapons which all had to be in cadence as well. My Sargent gave us a task of great importance. Our demonstration would represent our platoon and unit. It was important that we performed to the highest excellence. Needless to say, our demonstration was a huge success and we represented our platoon and unit well.

Paul the apostle declared reasons as to why he preached the gospel around the world. He told the church of the Living God the secret to his passion. He was entrusted with the message of Christ and had to share the truth.

Titus 1: 3  " And now at just the right time he has revealed this message, which we announce to everyone. It is by the command of God our Savior that I have been ENTRUSTED with this work for him."

We have been entrusted with the same message. Every believer is called to share this marvelous truth to all 7 plus billion people on the planet. It is our destiny and the world needs Jesus more than ever. The current world events point to the decaying society that we live in. Jesus is needed in the lives of the hurting. We must live a life as ENTRUSTED believers and never allow the message to go silent.

Past meets present

This past Friday I had the privilege to perform a baptism.I always love doing baptisms because they are great examples of what our God is doing in other people's lives.

This baptism is special for it will be my last one performed in the great state of Missouri. It was also special due to the history of the river we performed the baptism at. Grand River baptist church is the church which has used this river for more than 150 years to perform baptisms. I had heard that in the winter time, during the old days, the congregation would chip through the ice in order to have a baptism. I love the history and the dedication of the Saints. Reverend Jeremiah Farmer was a church planter who planted this church over 150 years ago and baptized many in this same river. Some said he planted over 500 churches in the state of Missouri. What a remarkable brother in the faith.

God has a way of dealing the deck in our lives when it is time to move on. We started our journey here in Missouri with some baptisms and now we end our journey here the same. We became a part of history and forever be in the pages of the history book for this little country church.

The past meets the present and the gospel of Jesus is still alive and well today.

Our response to evil in the world.

It is not easy living in this world with all the temptations and rapid increase of sin.  The world glorifies some sins and plays down others. Nonetheless, a sin is a sin. Sin ruins and corrupts lives and we all have our own battles with it. This is why we can't judge the world in our present state.

Pastors and Christians have made it sound to the rest of the world that Christians are without sin or personal battles. This is far from the truth. I keep going back to PAUL the Apostle's personal conflict with sin.

I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.”
Romans 7:21-25 NLT

He wants to do right but fails at times to sin. Now PAUL was not saying that he sinned often. However, when he did; he could see the work or struggle of two different entities. One being PAUL and the other being sin.

Why do people do evil things in the world? What makes a person kill another? What makes a person cheat on their spouse? The answer is that WE all are slaves or servants to sin. I speak heavy on the WE. WE all come short of the glory of God. WE all are wretched people bound to the ugliness of corruption. WE can't help ourselves because our master, SIN, controls our every move.

Instead of turning to Jesus for our strength and power to overcome; Christians try to legislate morality. We fight our battles against sin through a sinful and corrupt government. We will never win. Only Jesus, who knew no sin, can help ALL OF US overcome the corrupt nature within our hearts.

As believers we are to help point the world to the right direction. We are to help lead the world to Jesus through loving and humbled ways. We speak the truth. Nothing more and nothing less.  We strive to live like Christ in every way possible and we show the world that Jesus is the only way to freedom. Our task is simple and our goals are numbered. Let's be the lighthouses we were meant to be to the world. Let's bring the lost ships home.

Prophecy for the church of India

Prophetic Word:

India will become a leading nation over the next few years. Technological advancements, medical advancements, interstellar advancements  and much more will come from this great nation. This nation will become the most populous nation in the world as well. The Church of India must be ready. Ready to share the message of Christ, ready to take care of the needy, ready to show and share the love of Christ. The leaders of the church must grow in wisdom and knowledge of God’s truth in order to handle the coming harvest. They must be willing to mentor and train others. There is a great harvest coming to India! Many will come to the faith of Christ. Prepare the fishing nets! Prepare the righteous bait! Don’t think the same and be open to change! There is a paradigm that the Lord desires to bring to the Church of India. The church of India is not just for the poor. The message of Christ is for whosoever hears.

The Lord will raise up believers who are like Joseph. ( Read Genesis 41:1-57) Joseph was a believer, prophet, leader, and a business man for God. Many Christian leaders will rise as professionals and leaders within the Church of India. Don’t be afraid to set aside the old mantle. God is transitioning the Church of India into a modern expression of His truth. Don’t let the false doctrine of false Shepherds and Prophets hinder your decisions for the future. (Read Jeremiah 23:1-40.)

The church of India will rise above other nations who have sent missionaries to them. The Church of India will send more missionaries around the world in the coming days. Missionaries within the nation , missionaries in the middle east, and missionaries around the world. These missionaries will not be conventional. They will work in key positions and present the gospel through their tent making professions. They will reach areas considered unreachable. God will allow them access into areas where missionaries from other nations can not go. They will work through peace and grace.

Scripture reference:

Psalms 46:10-11 GW  Let go of your concerns! Then you will know that I am God. I rule the nations. I rule the earth.  (11)  The LORD of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah

Hebrews 12:12-17 GW  Strengthen your tired arms and weak knees.  (13)  Keep walking along straight paths so that your injured leg won't get worse. Instead, let it heal.  (14)  Try to live peacefully with everyone, and try to live holy lives, because if you don't, you will not see the Lord.  (15)  Make sure that everyone has kindness from God so that bitterness doesn't take root and grow up to cause trouble that corrupts many of you.  (16)  Make sure that no one commits sexual sin or is as concerned about earthly things as Esau was. He sold his rights as the firstborn son for a single meal.  (17)  You know that afterwards, when he wanted to receive the blessing that the firstborn son was to receive, he was rejected. Even though he begged and cried for the blessing, he couldn't do anything to change what had happened.

The Call to the Church

Last month, there was a week to where the Holy Spirit would wake me up in the middle of the night. It started on a Sunday night into an early Monday morning. I awoke at 2:11AM and just felt led of the Lord to pray. After a time of prayer, I simply rolled back over and went back to sleep. This routine happened every day of that week. I would wake up at 2:11AM and then go back to sleep. There was only one night to where I awoke at a different time. It was early Friday morning, and I awoke at 3:11AM. I followed suit with prayer and then went back to sleep. Typically around 5:00AM is when I get up to get ready for work. I awoke Friday morning and Holy Spirit started to immediately flash in my mind the whole week. I was asking him what it meant. All I heard was the name Matthew. Therefore, I felt led to read from Matthew 2:11 then from Matthew 3:11. Below is what the Lord shared with me. It was a call to me, and I believe it is a call to the church.

Matthew 2:11 GW
(11)  When they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary. So they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 3:11 GW
(11)  I baptize you with water so that you will change the way you think and act. But the one who comes after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

The Call to the Church

1. Travel the distance to discover the promise: The wise men traveled long distances to see the Son of God. They did not care how long it took because obtaining a glimpse of the promise was more important.
2. Bow down and Worship the Lord: Real worship consist of the fear of the Lord and total devotion to the King. Many of the wise men were wealthy, but they gladly surrendered all to worship the King.
3. Give your all and your best to the Lord: The Wise men gave their best and costly valuables. God does not desire our leftovers but our first fruits.
4. Live a life of repentance: John the Baptist talked about changing the way we think and act. This is an ongoing process. We need to grow into our repentant heart and stay broken before the Lord. His grace is meant to humble us not give a free ticket to a sinful lifestyle.
5. Let humility be your mantle: John the Baptist had more followers than Jesus at the time. His ministry was booming and people were coming from all over to hear him speak. Even with his notoriety and popularity status; he still declared that Jesus was more than him. Jesus is more than me, and that is why I need him.
6. Be immersed in the power of the Holy Spirit and His fire:  The church has become powerless and distant from the workings of Holy Spirit. It is time to step into the pool of his presence again and stay submerged for a very long time.

New Paradigm for church

I have spoken many times about the disarray of the Westernized church. God allows the W.C. to meet currently in its present form, but it is not His perfect will for us. There is something more that is meant to be produced. I am not talking about the House Church or Simple church either. Those expressions get us closer to the heart of God, but not the end result. There is a new paradigm ( new to us) that the church needs to slowly evolve in. Let's face it. The Westernized church is not hacking it. Many churches are closing down or waiting for the current occupants to die off.

There is more to church than listening to a sermon or singing a song. I don't claim to have all the answers nor will I present such a notion within this blog. However, I feel it deeply that God is calling us to something more. His purpose for the church is not totally correct. He allows current expressions, and those current expressions are not necessary evil or wrong. They are just not perfect to God's design.

I am not talking about being the New Testament church either. Every church claims they are a N.T.C.  Every church claims that they are at the peak of God's perfect will. Are we? Are we expressing and showing the world God's best?

Genesis 2: 7And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;and man became a living being.

Are we living as God breathed individuals? The New Testament model of church life was meant to bring us back to this point. It was meant to prepare us for our eternal purpose. Centuries later we have fallen into the same trap the Pharisees and Sadducee's did. We have built our human altars. We have made up rules and regulations which supersede the Word of God. We have tried to implant our designs of Church life instead of the design of God. So where is the disconnect?

We have disconnected ourselves from Holy Spirit like a child inadvertently unplugging a lamp. We keep turning on and off the switch but no light seems to come on. God breathed into the nostrils of man and life became a reality. Holy Spirit is that breathe, and He desires to bring life to the church. What do we have to do? What is God's perfect will for us?

New paradigm for church:

1. Reboot to Genesis 2:7 and become people who have the life of God within them.
2. Some see church life in basic 1 and 2 dimensions. There are a 3rd, 4th, 5th, and more dimensions to church life and God's purpose for us.
3. Church is not the building, the house, the location, but the people. Never let the location replace the people.
4. The new paradigm is about being and living as the Body of Christ versus doing this or that. The expression of Christ is more important than the outward, visual, spectacles we show to the world.
5. Jesus gave us the answers to the New Paradigm for the church.
  a. Love the Lord God with our whole being. ( Become one with Him)
  b. Love our neighbor through that same Love ( Become relational )
  c. Go into all the world and share this truth ( Become Missional)

The New paradigm for the church is simply fulfilling the purpose of God in our lives and making the changes to get there.
