Fighting our battles

II Kings 6 :15When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Elisha understood who fought his battles and he understood who was on his side. Army from Syria was coming for Elisha because he would tell the king of Israel their battle plans. How did Elisha know? The living God would tell Elisha and in return Elisha would relay the message. The King of Syria was furious and wanted Elisha dead. Little did he know that Elisha's army was not from this world. When God opened the spiritual eyes of Elisha's servant, can you imagine what he saw? I am certain he probably fell to his knees in awe of God's power and might. The mountain that day was full of horses, probably not ones human eyes have ever seen before, and chariots of fire were probably attached to the horses. The same type of chariot that Elisha saw when the living God came to get Elijah and take him to heaven.

Elisha had this unwavering faith that the living God was going to take care of him.  Believers need this unwavering faith today. God is looking for the faithful. Those who believe for the impossible and do the impossible. God is declaring to his people, as well, that He comes to fight our battles. All we have to do is just trust and live the life according to His truth. The Lord defeated the army of Syria on that day. He showed the whole army his great power and his great mercy. Truly we serve a God that is not Dead , and who is still in our world today! Maybe there is a battle you are facing. Maybe you are believing God for a miracle. Maybe life seems to keep giving you disaster after disaster. Think about the Lord of the Armies.

Think about His great power. Think about the armies He has at His disposal. Satan took only 1/3rd of the angels with Him when he got KICKED OUT OF HEAVEN! If my math is correct, that leaves 2/3rds of the angels still fighting on the side of the Holy One. It is 2/3rds of an infinite number as well.  The bible does not declare how much was the 1/3rd and how much was the 2/3rds. We have 2/3rds of God's great Army working on our behalf and fighting off the enemy. We have been given the authority, through Jesus, to pray for God's army to intervene in our life situations. In a time, where the enemy is rising up in force; it is time Christians start to believe who really is fighting for us. I can't defeat Satan in my own power, but the Living God I serve can. My God and King is my Savior , and He sends His angels to protect and comfort me in my time of need and in my time of plenty.

Today trust in the One True God. Today trust that the Lord of the Armies is on your side and will not allow you to fail. Trust that He will bring provision for the vision. Trust that the huge wall you are facing will be knocked down by His great power. Trust that if one door is closed another door orchestrated by God's divine purpose will be opened. He truly is fighting our battles!
