Making an Ishmael

Genesis 16:6-12  Abram answered Sarai, "Here, she's your slave. Do what you like with her." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar so much that she ran away.  (7)  The Messenger of the LORD found her by a spring in the desert, the spring on the way to Shur.  (8)  He said, "Hagar, Sarai's slave, where have you come from, and where are you going?" She answered, "I'm running away from my owner Sarai."  (9)  The Messenger of the LORD said to her, "Go back to your owner, and place yourself under her authority."  (10)  The Messenger of the LORD also said to her, "I will give you many descendants. No one will be able to count them because there will be so many."  (11)  Then the Messenger of the LORD said to her, "You are pregnant, and you will give birth to a son. You will name him Ishmael [God Hears], because the LORD has heard your cry of distress.  (12)  He will be as free and wild as an untamed donkey. He will fight with everyone, and everyone will fight with him. He will have conflicts with all his relatives."

How true is it today to see the descendants of the two half brothers?  First, I want to make it clear that not all Arabs are descendants from Ishmael, but the majority are. God made a promise to Hagar in regards to her descendants, and God has kept that promise. Look at the many Arabs today. They live in some of the world's most extreme places on the planet yet they are prosperous. Now the majority of Ishmael's descendants are Muslims. The Majority of Ishmael's descendants are also terrorists.
It is interesting to note that God had a plan for both Isaac and Ishmael. Their descendants were meant to live among each other and prosper by the Hand of God.  However, look at verse 12 in regards to Ishmael's descendants plight. "...And every man's hand against him...." Right now radical Muslims are being bombed by a 40 nation combined effort.  Truly most of the world hates and is disgusted by the acts and atrocities of these terrorists.
Who is to blame for our world's current debacle? Why are these evil men and women out to kill and destroy Western Civilization? Why do they think their religion trumps every other religion? Are they truly following the teachings of Muhammad?
Abraham and Sarah are the first ones to blame for our current world's dilemma. They grew impatient waiting for God's promise and ended up creating an " ISHMAEL." ( Yes , I just went there.) It is amazing to note that the actions of two or three people could affect the lives of millions around the world. Everyone on the face of the planet has a purpose! Modern Civilizations are partly to blame for the brewing of terrorists in the Middle East as well. Foreign policies from large well endowed nations have left many in the Middle East no where to turn but to the cowardice of radical Muslims.
These cowardly terrorists hate the West due to old wounds and in my opinion demonic control. Old wounds from the crusades, Israel's return to Statehood, and the West's involvement in different issues in the Middle East. Truth be known, America and other Western nations are partly to blame to the current struggles. America trained many of the current terrorists in some way or form either directly or indirectly. We did so to help our own interest in this part of the world. We are truly reaping what we have sown. The other reason to hate, if not the main reason, is the demonic. Islam is a false religion and behind the veil is controlled by a devil. Due to this demonic control, there is never going to be peace in the Middle East until the return of Christ. Satan is out to kill, steal, and destroy. He has blinded millions into following this disturbed faith. Any faith that has to kill others, who don't believe, is a faith that is weak and cowardly. Islam (Extreme Islam) is truly a weak, demonic religion. Only demons desire to kill others. Only devils desire to bring harm to the human race.
As Ishmaelites ravage the Middle East and other places around the world, many are left wondering on what to do. It appears that we are tippy toeing around the issue and hope that it goes away. This evil will not go away even by brute force. It is not natural weapons which will stop the spread of radical Islam, it is spiritual weapons which will thwart the evil of men. What should Christians do  during  this crisis?

Below are some suggestions.
Overcoming the Making of an Ishmael
1. Pray for the Peace of Israel.
2. Pray for the people of the Middle East. Pray for the Faith of Christ to reach them.
3. Be cautious. There is nothing wrong with being cautious. Before Jesus ascended to the heavens, he told his disciples to take their swords with them when they travel. He meant it as a need of protection not war.
4. Be prepared. Believers should be ready for any circumstance which may arise.
5. Share your faith with Muslims. Don't be afraid to share and show your faith to other Muslims you may know. Right now many Muslims living in Western Countries are afraid. They fear the acts of extremists will cause many to lash back on them.
6. Listen to the Prophetic voice of God. Read and listen to what God's word says about the current situation. Follow His truth and not the jargon of End time preachers who desire to make a buck off of believers fear.
7. Preach Jesus baby!!!! Don't let the distractions of the Middle East stop the pouring out of Jesus' love to the world. This gospel must be preached until the very end.

The Great Dancer

Zephaniah 3:17 " The Lord your God is with you. He is a hero who saves you. He happily rejoices over you, renews you with his love, and celebrates over you with shouts of joy."

Despair, like a ballerina, prances around your soul.
She leaps and twirls with effortless melancholy.
Without limitations sorrow achieves its pricey toll.
Each pliè and battement dances away destiny.

Disfigured and collapsed on the floor of diabolus.
Swaying back and forth without thought or consolation.
Sight fades to the darkness and blood becomes embolus.
Rocking with vibration and undetermined occasion.

Light begins to pierce through the oculus of darkness.
Despair is chased away with allegro movements.
The Great Dancer leaps to take away your direness.
His assemble transforms into heavenly moments.

He rejoices over your soul with exuberance and elation
He sings and speaks to your heart with hope and peace.
He dances with feet which bring deliverance and exultation.
His melody breaks the chains of despair and decrease.

The bible tells us that the living God sings over us. He dances over us with great joy and love. In most cultures, dancing is a sign of happiness and strong affection.

I picture a father dancing with his little daughter's feet standing on his feet. He makes all the movements and all the strides. The father twirls his daughter around with copious grins and laughters. All time seems to slow down and only the father and his daughter seem to dance in the vastness of space.

The Lord is the Great Dancer for His people. There are times in your life when you are dancing with Him. There are times when you are standing on his feet while He dances. There are times when He is dancing over you and rejoicing over  you. Those are the times when despair has taken hold and hope has escaped like a vapor. He takes your hand and lifts you up from the dance floor of life. He spins you around and holds you close to His chest. His strength bleeds into your spirit and His songs become your melodies of hope.

Maybe you feel like the God of the universe is not near you. Maybe you feel like no one hears your cries in the night. Maybe you feel distant and in despair. The Great Dancer, rejoicer, is right there with you now. His hand is reaching out to you. He desires to lift you up from the dance floor and spin you around into His place of peace. Just take His hand and never let go. He loves you deeply and desires to rejoice over you.
