Bible Prophecy ( The Falling Away) Part III

As the years turn into decades and decades turn into centuries, the church sees a fading away of committed believers. In today's society, one would see pockets of the true believers all around the world, but in modern societies, the committed believer becomes less and less. Maybe I look at things with a different point of view. I am not trying to be negative, in fact, I am a positive type of guy. I like seeing the glass half full instead of empty. However, I also like to recognize that the glass is not using its full capacity since it is only half full. Therefore, I try to write with this perspective in mind.

There are several scriptures which pertain to the falling away of many. Here is the truth. Falling away does not necessary mean folks stop going to a church building, but within that church setting  are people who really don't know the Lord.

I Timothy 3:1 You must understand this: In the last days there will be violent periods of time. 2 People will be selfish and love money. They will brag, be arrogant, and use abusive language. They will curse their parents, show no gratitude, have no respect for what is holy, 3 and lack normal affection for their families. They will refuse to make peace with anyone. They will be slanderous, lack self-control, be brutal, and have no love for what is good. 4 They will be traitors. They will be reckless and conceited. They will love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will appear to have a godly life, but they will not let its power change them. Stay away from such people.6 Some of these men go into homes and mislead weak-minded women who are burdened with sins and led by all kinds of desires. 7 These women are always studying but are never able to recognize the truth.8 As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men oppose the truth. Their minds are corrupt, and the faith they teach is counterfeit. 9 Certainly, they won’t get very far. Like the stupidity of Jannes and Jambres, their stupidity will be plain to everyone.

This passage of scripture allures to Jannes and Jambres who were magicians during the time of Moses ( Exodus 7-9). Their names are never mentioned in the Old Testament but their history was well known even in Paul's time. They were deceivers of the people and performed similar miracles as Moses did. However, in the end Jannes and Jambres could not perform the last miracle from God to all who lived in Egypt during that time. The last miracle was the death of every first born even of animals. There are many deceivers of the faith out in the world today who are like Jannes and Jambres. These deceivers contribute to the great falling away but are not the end all.
People of God are falling away due to their own sin and lusts. The church is much like the world , and it is getting worse each and every day. What use to be biblically wrong, and still is, is now a grey area for some believers. The falling away takes more casualties each and everyday.
I Timothy 4:1 The Spirit says clearly that in later times some believers will desert the Christian faith. They will follow spirits that deceive, and they will believe the teachings of demons. 2 These people will speak lies disguised as truth. Their consciences have been scarred as if branded by a red-hot iron. 3 They will try to stop others from getting married and from eating certain foods. God created food to be received with prayers of thanks by those who believe and know the truth. 4 Everything God created is good. Nothing should be rejected if it is received with prayers of thanks. 5 The word of God and prayer set it apart as holy.
There are signs around us which allure to the church and their issue of falling away. We can use the above passage as a template of what to look for.

Falling away signs,
1. Not letting Holy Spirit work in every personal and corporate decision.
2. Deserting the faith altogether.
3. People will follow spirits that deceive.
4.People will believe in the teachings of demons.
5. People will distort the truth of God's word to fit their own program.
6. People consciences will be severed which surrenders them to a life of anarchy.
7.People will try to stop others from falling God's law on marriage and other activities.
The 7 signs of a falling away church can be compared with the current activities of the Body of Christ today. In biblical prophecy, the falling away is a birth sign of the return of Christ. Jesus said blessed are those who endure until the end.  Don't be one of the people who fall away from the truth faith. Stay pure. Stay true to His word and not the corrupt Word of God. Stay strong and never back down.
