Self-centered indulgence, pride and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle.
Sin seems right for a season or little while. When you come down from the high of sin usually depression begins to take control. Atheists seem to think that recognizing the sin in us makes individuals weak and dependable on an invisible being. What if recognizing sin means that we have a greater understanding of our human limitations?
Moses recognized the sinful nature of man and refuse to be a king when he had alrights to be.
Heb 11:24 When Moses grew up, faith led him to refuse to be known as a son of Pharaoh's daughter.
Heb 11:25 He chose to suffer with God's people rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a little while.
Sin is not just an offense against God's divine laws but against natural laws as well. We have all heard about the Laws of Physics which operate in our world today. The Law of gravity guides a daily principle for us; if it did not then we would all float off into space. What if we saw sin in the same manner? The Law of sin would have a whole new understanding to the masses of the World. The Law of sin robs us from doing good and being right in the eyes of God. If there is no sin, then why do people get a divorce when a spouse cheats on them. In essence cheating should not be a sin so all could do it. If there is no sin, then why would killing someone be a crime? I guess the Atheists believe this way. They have killed thousands of Christians throughout the centuries. If there is not a law of sin, then why would it be wrong to rob a bank or an ATM? If we try to ignore the Law of sin , then we ignore the basic principles of human existence. We ignore the moral code that has been divinely installed into each human being. We can't deny the truth that we have thoughts of what is right and what is wrong.
The Law of sin exists in realm of our existence today whether we choose to believe it or not. To say you don't believe in it would mean you are in favor of total Anarchy and any person can do whatever they want to any person. To say you do believe it but not except the divine influence to do right then you are a hypocrite. You live a lie contrary to the law which governs your very existence.
The Law of sin is operating in the world today and it controls many to the point of natural and spiritual death. The interesting truth about the Law of Sin is that it is both a natural and spiritual law. It is a cancer which eats away at the flesh spiritually and naturally of mankind. Like any law there is a means to break. To escape the law of Gravity on planet earth is to fly out of its atmosphere. To break away from the law of Sin is to embrace the Law of repentance. It means coming to terms with your limited humanity and trusting the Divine being who has given us a way out. A spaceship if you will which allows us to escape the physical limitations of the law. The spaceship being Christ who lives outside of the realm of human understanding. His ability to break free from the Law of Sin by dying on the Cross and resurrecting back to life makes Him the only candidate who can lead or steer us away from the condemning law.
