The Law of Sin

Self-centered indulgence, pride and a lack of shame over sin are now emblems of the American lifestyle.

Sin seems right for a season or little while. When you come down from the high of sin usually depression begins to take control. Atheists seem to think that recognizing the sin in us makes individuals weak and dependable on an invisible being. What if recognizing sin means that we have a greater understanding of our human limitations?
Moses recognized the sinful nature of man and refuse to be a king when he had alrights to be.

Heb 11:24  When Moses grew up, faith led him to refuse to be known as a son of Pharaoh's daughter.
Heb 11:25  He chose to suffer with God's people rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a little while.

Sin is not just an offense against God's divine laws but against natural laws as well. We have all heard about the Laws of Physics which operate in our world today. The Law of gravity guides a daily principle for us; if it did not then we would all float off into space. What if we saw sin in the same manner? The Law of sin would have a whole new understanding to the masses of the World. The Law of sin robs us from doing good and being right in the eyes of God. If there is no sin, then why do people get a divorce when a spouse cheats on them. In essence cheating should not be a sin so all could do it.  If there is no sin, then why would killing someone be a crime? I guess the Atheists believe this way. They have killed thousands of Christians throughout the centuries. If there is not a law of sin, then why would it be wrong to rob a bank or an ATM? If we try to ignore the Law of sin , then we ignore the basic principles of human existence. We ignore the moral code that has been divinely installed into each human being. We can't deny the truth that we have thoughts of what is right and what is wrong.

The Law of sin exists in realm of our existence today whether we choose to believe it or not. To say you don't believe in it would mean you are in favor of total Anarchy and any person can do whatever they want to any person. To say you do believe it but not except the divine influence to do right then you are a hypocrite. You live a lie contrary to the law which governs your very existence.

The Law of sin is operating in the world today and it controls many to the point of natural and spiritual death. The interesting truth about the Law of Sin is that it is both a natural and spiritual law. It is a cancer which eats away at the flesh spiritually and naturally of mankind. Like any law there is a means to break. To escape the law of Gravity on planet earth is to fly out of its atmosphere. To break away from the law of Sin is to embrace the Law of repentance. It means coming to terms with your limited humanity and trusting the Divine being who has given us a way out. A spaceship if you will which allows us to escape the physical limitations of the law.  The spaceship being Christ who lives outside of the realm of human understanding. His ability to break free from the Law of Sin by dying on the Cross and resurrecting back to life makes Him the only candidate who can lead or steer us away from the condemning law.

What would be your thoughts on this subject?

Slumpdog Millionaire

Have you ever been through a slump in your relationship with Christ? It seems that your prayers hit the ceiling but go no further or when you worship it is just dry and undesirable. If you so, then you are in a slump or you are a Slumpdog Millionaire. Several things could cause the slump process in your relationship with Christ. I will just name a few.

1. SIN: Sin has to be number one because it is usually the main cause to the slumpness of life. Sin puts up a wall between you and your God.

Isaiah 59:2-3  But your wrongs have separated you from your God, and your sins have made him hide his face so that he doesn't hear you.  (3)  Your hands are stained with blood, and your fingers are stained with sin. You speak lies, and you mutter wicked things.

Fortunately for us, sin does not have to control us and keep us at a  distance from the Lord. Jesus came to make us a way back to the Father. All we have to do is repent and trust in His truth.

2. ATTACK: The enemy is out there to make believers feel unworthy of God's presence. He seeks to hinder your prayer and worship time. A weak believer becomes less of a threat to him and his plans. A powerful believer who has spent time with the Lord on a regular basis is a major threat to the enemy's king.

1 Peter 5:6-11  Be humbled by God's power so that when the right time comes he will honor you.  (7)  Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.  (8)  Keep your mind clear, and be alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion as he looks for someone to devour.  (9)  Be firm in the faith and resist him, knowing that other believers throughout the world are going through the same kind of suffering.  (10)  God, who shows you his kindness and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while.  (11)  Power belongs to him forever. Amen.

3. NEW LEVEL: Sometimes the slump comes because we are still worshiping the same old way or praying the same old prayers. Sometimes Holy Spirit is coaching us to come up higher to experience a new side of the living God. Do you think that every time the angels with Six wings fly over the throne of God and say " Holy, Holy, Holy is our God." that they see something new in Him each time they pass? I do. Sometimes Holy Spirit desires to take us higher in our relationship with the living God.

Acts 4:31-32  When the apostles had finished praying, their meeting place shook. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God boldly.  (32)  The whole group of believers lived in harmony. No one called any of his possessions his own. Instead, they shared everything.

The Apostles were already filled with Holy Spirit right?  Due to the hunger and passion of the believers praying. Holy Spirit brought on a newness upon them. They experienced something fresh and wonderful from the Lord. There are multiple facets to the Lord. Are you hungry enough to try and experience them?

These are the three things I see which hinder us from going further with the Lord or makes us a Slumpdog Millionaire. It is easy to overcome. If we are willing.

Demonic Influence

I have been a believer in Christ for over 25 years now. Actually next year, 2015, would be 30 years since I surrendered my heart to Christ. It is hard to believe that it has been that long. I am thankful for my life and what God has chosen to do with it.

Through my many years in the faith, I have seen the subtle and flamboyant influence of the demonic. I have seen it within the church and within the world. For the past 30 years, it is obvious that the enemy is increasing his tactics against mankind and the children of God. Today, we see a slow merging of the church into the world's way of life. There is almost nothing to distinguish the two apart. The demonic influence has becoming increasingly strong and many christians are oblivious to it.

Scripture is clear that the believer is not fighting the world's system but the masters behind it.

Ephesians 6:11-13  Put on all the armor that God supplies. In this way you can take a stand against the devil's strategies.  (12)  This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world.  (13)  For this reason, take up all the armor that God supplies. Then you will be able to take a stand during these evil days. Once you have overcome all obstacles, you will be able to stand your ground.

The evil powers are trying their best to turn the Body of Christ from their true purpose. The easiest way to weaken an enemy is to weaken them from within. We have so many different denominations. We have churches with church splits. We have great church buildings that are empty from the Church. We have battles within the camp, and the enemy is sitting back waiting to see who will be left. The Devil and his armies are well organized, and we have to be on our toes in order to refuse the wave of demonic influence which is coming our way.

There are three main issues in the church today, and each issue is influenced by demons.

1. Religion: Read Matthew 23

Religion is deeply influenced by the enemy.  Religion strips away the fear of God. It is critical of others. It allows the believer to be stuck in the past or in yesterday's anointing.  It is filled with man made legalism instead of following the truth of God's word. It keeps the believer bound to doubt and lack of hope in the things of God. Religion keeps the church divided and the enemy loves division within the ranks of God's people. It makes us vulnerable and less effective. Religion is a living organism which is growing each year. The true church is slowly evolving from the religious. We need to be washed with the blood of Christ again and repent from our religiousness.

2. Complacency Read Revelation 3: 14-22

Complacency is another word for Lukewarm. If the enemy can get believers to become stagnant and dead to the things of God, then there is no power to contend with. The church is powerless due to complacency and self-righteousness. Complacency comes through having too much. The American church is wealthy and have succomb to the pressures and temptations of that wealth. We build our teachings and ministries around wealth. Teachings on tithing and offerings are all based from the eyes of wealth and not from the truth of God's word. The church of Laodicea was bound to their wealth and technological advancements as well. Their life style put them on the opposite end of what God desired. Complacency kills the life within the Church and makes her of no use.

3. Arrogance Read Revelation 2:20  But I have something against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. She teaches and misleads my servants to sin sexually and to eat food sacrificed to idols.

Arrogance stems from a spirit of the Jezebel. Demons influence weaker Christians in taking over churches, committees, or ministries. The spirit of the Jezebel loves to control. I have seen it time and time again. Unfortunately the church tolerates it and does not follow the word of God. The bible says to get rid of the Jezebel from within your ranks.  That spirit causes bickering, backbiting, gossip, and much more within the Body of Christ. In order for the church to move forward again, the Jezebel has to be expelled. It is time to throw the Jezebel out the window.

The church will overcome the setbacks, but we must stop the influence from demons in order to press forward with the purpose of Christ within us.
