Exile

Ezekiel 12:1-11  The LORD spoke his word to me. He said,  (2)  "Son of man, you are living among rebellious people. They have eyes, but they can't see. They have ears, but they can't hear because they are rebellious people.  (3)  "Son of man, pack your bags as if you were going into exile. Let the people see you leave in the daylight. March like a captive from your place to another place as they watch. Maybe they will understand, even though they are rebellious people.  (4)  Let them see you in the daylight. Bring out your bags as if you were going into exile. In the evening let them see you leave like a captive going into exile.  (5)  Dig a hole through the wall of your house, and leave through it.  (6)  Let them see you put your bags on your shoulders and carry them out in the dark. Cover your face so that you won't see the land. I've made you a sign to warn the nation of Israel."  (7)  I did what I was ordered to do. During the day I brought out bags as if I were going into exile. In the evening I dug a hole through the wall. I brought out my bags in the dark. I let the people see me as I carried my bags on my shoulders.  (8)  The next morning the LORD spoke his word to me. He said,  (9)  "Son of man, didn't the rebellious nation of Israel ask you what you were doing?  (10)  "Tell them, 'This is what the Almighty LORD says: This is the divine revelation about the prince from Jerusalem and about all the people of Israel who live there.'  (11)  "Tell them, 'I am your warning sign. What I have done will happen to you. You will go into exile and into captivity.

A word to rebellious people:

You have ears but don't listen to the voice of God which is loud and clear within your spirit. You have eyes but you refuse to see the love and mercy that He so lovingly desires to give you. It is time to repent and flee from youthful lusts and desires. It is time to pull away from the table of pleasure and self-indulgence. The Lord is calling you out from the cesspool of familiarity. You know the Captor comes to steal you away from the reality of God's love yet you refuse to fight back. You pack your bags and gather your trinkets which are instigators of your sin. You carry the load on your back instead of feeling the release from the Lord. You dig through the clay brick of holiness and escape from the righteousness. You throw yourself into the arms of the enemy. This enemy which comes to take you away from the truth. This enemy which robs you from the promises God has given.  You see the demonstration of the Lord. He longs for you to be free from the exile you are in. He is calling to your heart. He speaks and sings over you. He weeps and mourns for you. His spirit searches for your soul which has entered into the abyss of hopelessness. What will you do? Will you return? Will you call on his name again? You don't have to be in exile. You don't have to fall prey to the enemy's lies. You can be free. You can be changed. The Lord who owns the Universe is yelling to your spirit right now. The yell which shakes the mountains and splits the seas. Can you hear it? Can you see the mighty wave coming? Don't flee from God's love. Stay and stand firm. Don't budge from your spot. Keep your ground and the Lord will reward you. His purpose will purpose you. His destiny is destine to move you. It is time to return from the EXILE you are in.

Religiousness

I was reading over a denomination's bylaws the other day and was appalled. I wonder if the powers to be even realize the religiousness they have set in place, and how they have made themselves above God? This denomination is a pentecostal one and has thousands of missionaries around the world.

In my travels, many other denominations have splintered from this one because of the religiousness and harshness they impose. How crazy is that? What have we become as the body of Christ? We have convinced ourselves that we are alright with our current way of running the church. We tell ourselves that Jesus is the Head; only when we want Him to be.

This denomination, DEMONation is what I call it, declares that a minister would have to go through the district council first before allowing someone outside of their denomination could come and preach. If a minister in this denomination desires to preach at an non-############## church then he or she would have to get permission first from the council. Are you kidding me?  Mr. Big Shot who do you think you are.....? This denomination also declares that a minister could be kicked out if he or she does not come to the council with the above mentioned. Craziness!!!!!

Religiousness can never enter into the passionate move of God. You can preach all day from the pulpit to the religious zombies in the congregation, but nothing will change until complete repentance flows through the dead's veins again. It is like breathing life into a CPR dummy and expecting the dummy to live. It ain't going to happen.

Jesus spoke many times against those in denominations or who were religious.

Luke 11:33-54  "No one lights a lamp and hides it or puts it under a basket. Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lamp stand so that those who come in will see its light.  (34)  "Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is unclouded, your whole body is full of light. But when your eye is evil, your body is full of darkness.  (35)  So be careful that the light in you isn't darkness.  (36)  If your whole body is full of light and not darkness, it will be as bright as a lamp shining on you."  (37)  After Jesus spoke, a Pharisee invited him to have lunch at his house. So Jesus accepted the invitation.  (38)  The Pharisee was surprised to see that Jesus didn't wash before the meal.  (39)  The Lord said to him, "You Pharisees clean the outside of cups and dishes. But inside you are full of greed and evil.  (40)  You fools! Didn't the one who made the outside make the inside too?  (41)  Give what is inside as a gift to the poor, and then everything will be clean for you.  (42)  "How horrible it will be for you Pharisees! You give God one-tenth of your mint, spices, and every garden herb. But you have ignored justice and the love of God. You should have done these things without ignoring the others.  (43)  "How horrible it will be for you Pharisees! You love to sit in the front seats in the synagogues and to be greeted in the marketplaces.  (44)  How horrible it will be for you! You are like unmarked graves. People walk on them without knowing what they are."  (45)  One of the experts in Moses' Teachings said to him, "Teacher, when you talk this way, you insult us too."  (46)  Jesus said, "How horrible it will be for you experts in Moses' Teachings! You burden people with loads that are hard to carry. But you won't lift a finger to carry any of these loads.  (47)  "How horrible it will be for you! You build the monuments for the prophets. But it was your ancestors who murdered them.  (48)  So you are witnesses and approve of what your ancestors did. They murdered the prophets for whom you build monuments.  (49)  That's why the Wisdom of God said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles. They will murder some of those prophets and apostles and persecute others.'  (50)  So the people living now will be charged with the murder of every prophet since the world was made.  (51)  This includes the murders from Abel to Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the temple. Yes, I can guarantee this truth: The people living today will be held responsible for this.  (52)  "How horrible it will be for you experts in Moses' Teachings! You have taken away the key that unlocks knowledge. You haven't gained entrance into knowledge yourselves, and you've kept out those who wanted to enter."  (53)  When Jesus left, the scribes and the Pharisees held a terrible grudge against him. They questioned him about many things  (54)  and watched him closely to trap him in something he might say.

What is Religiousness?

1. Religious people don't care for others. You don't see them caring for the poor, the widows, or others in need. They are usually judging those types of people though.
2. Religious people pay good money to the church , so they can have positions of power.
3.  Religiousness is the making up of man made rules and calling them God's rules. Jesus did not wash his hands before eating, so he was considered  heathen by the religious. Today, if you are not a Republican then you are not a Christian.
4. Religiousness makes the scripture fit their needs and wants. Just read a denominations bylaws and see how twisted the Body of Christ has become.
5. Religious people get insulted or their feelings hurt when there laws and rules are questioned.

Just read the rest of the passage and see what Religiousness is about. Jesus made it clear that Religiousness in the Body will be dealt with harshly. Do we not believe this message to be true. Where is the fear of the Lord?

If you desire to eradicate Religiousness then you will have to follow the truth of God's word.

Eradicate Religiousness:

1. Allow the fear of God to flow
2. Hunger for righteousness all the time
3. Allow the word of God to replace human law
4. Be in constant prayer
5. Be watchful from worldly influences

We can conquer this evil within our churches if we so desire. Religiousness is cancer that can hit anyone. We must be careful and follow hard after the heart of God.

My Ministry

If you have been in ministry for any length of time you have probably heard the words " My Ministry". Many pastors and leaders take on a personal approach to what God has called them to do. There is nothing wrong with this ideal until " My Ministry" becomes the only ministry you care about and all others are second to you.

I have seen this take place time and time again. I have had ministers tell me to close our church up and come join THEIR ministry. I have had many offers from many selfish leaders in this manner. THEIR MINISTRY was assumed to be the better one. I have seen it recently, and it is an on going battle from selfish hearts who forget the ministry belongs to the Lord. They also forget that in order to be great in His kingdom; you must become the least.

Luke_9:48  Then he said to them, "Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me. Whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. The one who is least among all of you is the one who is greatest."

The " MINISTRY", if you will, first and foremost belongs to the living God. He is the one who called us, and He is the one that teaches us through His wisdom.

When Paul the apostle traveled to different churches; he never made his visit about his ministry. He made it about the Body of Christ. He would raise finances and other resources from different churches and distribute them out to the poorer of the churches in the region.

2 Corinthians 11:7-9  Did I commit a sin when I humbled myself by telling you the Good News of God free of charge so that you could become important?  (8)  I robbed other churches by taking pay from them to serve you.  (9)  When I was with you and needed something, I didn't bother any of you for help. My friends from the province of Macedonia supplied everything I needed. I kept myself from being a financial burden to you in any way, and I will continue to do that.

We have lost our way in what the Lord has called us to do. Many ministries are bent on building up their church and their ministry. They never fellowship with other churches and gleam from their witness. Our view of the church should be the church of the city, nation, and world. We are one Body devoted to One God. Yes, every individual has a calling and a purpose through Christ;however, that purpose is for the Body of Christ not for the individual.

So how can we get away from the " My Ministry" mentality?

1. Realize you are nothing without the Grace of God
2. Realize that your calling is meant to serve the Body of Christ not the other way around.
3. Fall in love with the Body of Christ as a whole and desire to see her excel to the highest heights for Jesus.
4. Make Christ your number one priority in your life instead of the affirmation of others.
5. Simply repent for being selfish and not of God.

If you are under the " My Ministry" mentality there is still hope for you. Simply fall on your knees and ask God to forgive you for stealing His calling and calling it your own. Simply humble yourself before the Lord and don't let pride rise up in you.
