Chisel at my heart

Psalms 17:2-5  Let the verdict of my innocence come directly from you. Let your eyes observe what is fair.  (3)  You have probed my heart. You have confronted me at night. You have tested me like silver, but you found nothing wrong. I have determined that my mouth will not sin.  (4)  I have avoided cruelty because of your word. In spite of what others have done,  (5)  my steps have remained firmly in your paths. My feet have not slipped.

A sculptor of stone uses a hammer and chisel to create a master piece. He first creates a model to go off of and uses that model to make his work of art. The sculptor will slowly work at different areas of the stone and chisel away the bulk that will not be part of the finished work. It is a process and takes hours upon hours of hard intense work.

David understood this process in regards to his relationship with the Lord. He asked the Lord to probe his heart and see if anything was  unclean within it. He asked the Lord to confront him with His holiness and allow His light to reveal anything unworthy.  The Lord desires to chisel away in us the things which hold us back from experiencing His fullness of love. He desires to create a masterpiece in each one of us. Jesus is the model He is going off of, and He will not quit until we look just like Him. The question is will we allow the divine sculptor to do His masterful work?

Ask the Lord to chisel away at your heart. Chisel away your fear, your uncertainty, your doubts, your lusts, your selfishness, your lack of self-control, your religiousness, your un-forgiveness, and whatever else is hard for you to let go. You see it is the part of the stone which cannot be a part of the finished masterpiece. It has to go.

Poetic Dancing with the Lord

Not ready to leave
Not ready to go
The journey is not over
The journey has just begun
Time is but a vapor
Essence is but a particle of time
Fear is the entrapment of the mind
Doubt is the executioner of faith
Life is but a passing
Death is the graduation to something more
Eternal life is beyond magical
Life in Christ is whimsical
Hope is the marrow to the bones
Peace is the companion to the faint
Love is the answer from the Divine
Where there is uncertainty
Where there is discord
Where achievement has traded places with defeat
There is someone greater than it all
There is someone stronger than the collapsing ceiling
There is someone who has conquered the summit of life
His name is beyond earthly articulation
Only the divinely touched can whisper is name
Hear the voice of a thousand thunders softly call out to His love
Only the loved can answer the Lover
Only the altered can become transparent
Regardless of the burden
Regardless of life's limitations
There will always without doubt be Jesus

2 Samuel 6:14-15  Wearing a linen ephod, David danced in the LORD'S presence with all his might.  (15)  He and the entire nation of Israel brought the ark of the LORD with shouts of joy and the sounding of rams' horns.

What if pastors started holding their congregations accountable to the Gospel message? What if the pastor tells parishioners to not come back to church until they were willing to be faithful? " Sorry, this church is looking for active people." " Sorry, if you can't give to the cause then please don't come." " Sorry, if you are not taking up your cross and following the Lord then please find another place to go to church." " Sorry, if you have a child in nursery , and you can't help with nursery then please don't come back." " Sorry if you can't support our outreaches then please reach out to another congregation because we don't need you here."

Sounds harsh doesn't it,  but did not Jesus say similar things to His followers. In today's tippie-toe around the stern words environment Jesus would have been scolded for being too mean to His peeps.

John 6:50-69  This is the bread that comes from heaven so that whoever eats it won't die.  (51)  I am the living bread that came from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. The bread I will give to bring life to the world is my flesh."  (52)  The Jews began to quarrel with each other. They said, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"  (53)  Jesus told them, "I can guarantee this truth: If you don't eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you don't have the source of life in you.  (54)  Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will bring them back to life on the last day.  (55)  My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.  (56)  Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood live in me, and I live in them.  (57)  The Father who has life sent me, and I live because of the Father. So those who feed on me will live because of me.  (58)  This is the bread that came from heaven. It is not like the bread your ancestors ate. They eventually died. Those who eat this bread will live forever."  (59)  Jesus said this while he was teaching in a synagogue in Capernaum.  (60)  When many of Jesus' disciples heard him, they said, "What he says is hard to accept. Who wants to listen to him anymore?"  (61)  Jesus was aware that his disciples were criticizing his message. So Jesus asked them, "Did what I say make you lose faith?  (62)  What if you see the Son of Man go where he was before?  (63)  Life is spiritual. Your physical existence doesn't contribute to that life. The words that I have spoken to you are spiritual. They are life.  (64)  But some of you don't believe." Jesus knew from the beginning those who wouldn't believe and the one who would betray him.  (65)  So he added, "That is why I told you that people cannot come to me unless the Father provides the way."  (66)  Jesus' speech made many of his disciples go back to the lives they had led before they followed Jesus.  (67)  So Jesus asked the twelve apostles, "Do you want to leave me too?"  (68)  Simon Peter answered Jesus, "Lord, to what person could we go? Your words give eternal life.  (69)  Besides, we believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."

Why do we get into these religious ruts which entrap many to do nothing in the faith? I know there are those crazy " All but Grace" teachers who teach believers to do nothing but receive God's grace and burn Christian incense all day. I affectionately call them the flower power Christians. Yes, God has given us great Grace and yes, we can not work towards our penance with God. I am not working for my penance. I have been saved by the power of God. Nothing I can do can earn me my salvation, but my changed live compels me to share my faith with others. I get board just being a potato pew warmer Christian like 80 to 90% of Christians today. I get tired of walking into the church and hearing the pastor plead for helpers and workers. Tell them, dear Pastor, if they can't serve the Lord then go someplace else. "Don't let the church doors hit you where the good Lord split you." How rude am I? I am not even considering the RETIRED Christians. You know, the ones who have already reached the highest summit. They have climb the highest mountain with God. They have saved half the world because they SHOWED people they were a christian by wearing their Christian T-shirts and by slapping their Christian bumpers stickers on their big luxury cars. You know, the Blue haired and white knuckled Christians who sit in the pews daring the Worship Leader to sing Beulah land or some other HEAVEN BOUND song. Those RETIRED Christians who want to keep church life the same as it was in 1955. " You ain't nothing but a hound dog. Thank, Thank you very much"

Why can't we just serve the Lord together? Why can't we simply hold each other accountable to the faith like we are supposed to?

James 5:14-16  If you are sick, call for the church leaders. Have them pray for you and anoint you with olive oil in the name of the Lord.  (15)  (Prayers offered in faith will save those who are sick, and the Lord will cure them.) If you have sinned, you will be forgiven.  (16)  So admit your sins to each other, and pray for each other so that you will be healed. Prayers offered by those who have God's approval are effective.

We are to admit our sins to each other and pray for each other. This is true accountability in the faith. We are missing the mark People of God. Sometimes I just want to go up to the religious people sitting in their nice comfortable pew and say " Hey! get off you self righteous butt and serve the Lord!" I know I would get in trouble for saying " butt" in church. How dare me! I beeze a heathen!!!!

I think I just offend the Love Camp Christians. You know the New Age Christians who go around doing nothing but talking about the end times, worshiping for hours, praying 24/7 and talking about the Father's love. Yes, Yes I love hearing and receiving the Love of God like the next Christian. Didn't the Lord get upset with Israel for camping instead of seizing the land? What about the Cheerleader Christians? You know, the ones who want you to discover the Champion in youuuuuuuuu. I am not a boxer!!! I am a believer in Jesus and He is my best Friend not my imagery animal guide on the astro plain.   I could go on and on. If I have offended you , then good. I have accomplished my task. Hold me accountable I don't care. I am sure I am being judged on my grammar from people who seem to think they invented the language.

We can't give true accountability to each other because it might be construed as heresy hunting. What a way to avoid accountability. Just call those who desire to bring true accountability to our lives Heresy hunters. No wonder the world does not desire to follow Christ. We can't give true accountability because we all don't follow the fullness of God's word. We judge each other more from our DEMONinational doctrine than we do from the word of God. ARGHHHHHH! Anybody frustrated yet?

So why do we need accountability in the Church today? Why is accountability so important? Below are a few points as to why we need it.

1. Accountability produces rock solid disciples.
2. Accountability prevents rogue teachings from springing up.
3. Accountability creates an environment of servant hood.
4. Accountability promotes a positive outlook of who Jesus is to the world.
5. Accountability promotes complete checks and balances.
6. Accountability is needed to keep the church thriving towards its God given goals.

Lets embrace accountability again in the Body of Christ. You can start with me if you like. Leave me a note or make a comment. Nothing will hurt my feelings I promise. Well thanks for reading and may God bless.

Prodigal Life

I have 4 beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated, opinionated, spoiled rotten, loved to the core, abundantly blessed, healthy, children. Who have always been at the core of my heart. They are very important to me, and l love them with a Father’s love.  My wife and I have taught them to think for themselves. We taught them the word of God and the importance of being a believer in Christ. I personally have led each child to the place of salvation and baptized them. It was and still is a great honor in my life. Having pastored two churches, each child played numerous roles in our inception.  My sons preached at the pulpit a few times. My girls danced and help lead worship songs. My youngest son led worship for awhile.  My wife and two daughters have been on a missions trip with me. It was always great when the family ministered together.

Unfortunately, when my sons became adults things changed in our dynamic. They both have decided to become prodigals of the faith or have currently decided to walk their own path. We always told them to have their own relationship with God and not to base their relationship with Him from mine or my wife’s personal relationship. We respect their choices and still believe in them.   I still love them just the same regardless of there present choices. Nothing has changed in that area.

I rebelled against my parents when I was young, but it was the opposite direction. I became a Christian at 13 when no one else in my household was one. My understanding of what my boys are going through is lacking to say the least.  I am proud of them. They both don’t profess to be a Christian and still sin like the devil like most Christians in the church today. They were taught never to be religious or phony in the faith.

I can’t help but ask myself the parental questions; we all have asked at one point in our lives. Where did I go wrong in regards to raising them in the faith? Did I show them hypocrisy? Was I too religious? Did I put too much on them being pastor’s kids? Did I over discipline or under discipline? Was I not clear enough in the family bible studies? Was I too strict or not strict enough? Why have they turned their back on the God they once served as children and early teenagers? Where have I failed?   The truth of the matter is that all of our children were homeschooled and have been a part of the Church life since their births. My wife and I can't blame anyone else but ourselves, and we don't. As the father, I take the greatest responsibility.

Once again, my love for them has not changed, and I am proud of them as a father could be. They both have jobs. One is going to college and one thinking about going to college. They both have their own place to call home.  They simply lack a relationship with Christ which is the most important thing to have for any person on the planet.

Where did the father go wrong in the story of the prodigal son?

Luke 15:11-32  And He said, A certain man had two sons.  (12)  And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that is coming to me. And he divided his living to them.  (13)  And not many days afterward, the younger son gathered all together and went away into a far country. And there he wasted his property, living dissolutely.  (14)  And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land. And he began to be in want.  (15)  And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country. And he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.  (16)  And he was longing to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, and no one gave to him.  (17)  And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father abound in loaves, and I perish with hunger!  (18)  I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you  (19)  and am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.  (20)  And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.  (21)  And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you, and am no more worthy to be called your son.  (22)  But the father said to his servants, Bring the best robe and put it on him. And put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet.  (23)  And bring the fattened calf here and kill it. And let us eat and be merry,  (24)  for this my son was dead and is alive again, he was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.  (25)  And his elder son was in the field. And as he came and drew near the house, he heard music and dancing.  (26)  And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.  (27)  And he said to him, Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him safe and sound.  (28)  And he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and entreated him.  (29)  And answering he said to his father, Lo, these many years I have served you, neither did I transgress your commandment at any time. And yet you never gave me a kid so that I might make merry with my friends.  (30)  But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fattened calf.  (31)  And he said to him, Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.  (32)  It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

It appears to me that the Father of the prodigal gave his son room to figure out where the true meaning of life lied. He did not desire for his son to figure this out the hard way, but some folk are just that way. ( Pig headed)  Our children have to be given room to hear from God themselves. I know this is not popular with some Christian parents, but God does not force His truth on any one. If you have to force truth on someone then it is not truth. God’s word is clear on what to teach and train our children. Teaching and training are twofold and go hand in hand. Training gives demonstration to what is being taught. Every child belonging to a Christian family has the ability to rebel against the faith they are raised in. Parents should not blame themselves for their children's behaviors.  As parents, our job is to make it harder for our children to rebel against God’s truth. It doesn't mean they never will; it just means they will have a hard time rebelling. The reality is that we are not perfect, and we make mistakes. I am confident that God’s word gives the parent and the child an arsenal of information on how we should all live.Every family should have a foundation grounded in God's truth.

So what are some tips in dealing with the Prodigal Life?

1.  Pray without ceasing.  The greatest weapon parents have against the enemy lying to their children is prayer. Praying moms and fathers can shake the course of time. Your consistent and spirit led prayers can change the lives of your prodigal children. Never give up on the power of prayer. God is hearing and working for His people even when we can't see it.
2. Continue to speak over them. When my children were young they were prophesied over by many different people. God spoke words for them through my wife and I. Throughout the years, we would remind the living God about these words of truth. We would speak over them His truth, and we are still doing it today.
3. Don't live your life with regrets. Parents find it hard to not blame themselves for their children's behavior. It is true that parents have some blame to take in regards to their children's behavior and up bringing. However, the full accountability falls on the child. We all have choices to make and our up bringing should never be a crutch for our current behavior that is against God's truth. Now I know there are religious folk who will judge you or condemn you because of the sinful behavior of your children. Don't give in to their blinded and self absorbed comments. If the Living God, who walked in the garden each day, could or would not stop Adam and Eve from rebellion and making their own choices. What leads people to think that we can stop our children from rebelling if they choose to do so?

Liar Liar pants on Fire.

Lying is one of the six mentioned sins that God detests.

No one likes a liar. People who have the tendency to lie a lot often find themselves in difficult situations. There are tons of scriptures about Liars and the art of lying.

Proverbs 6:16-19  Six things are hated by the Lord; seven things are disgusting to him:  (17)  Eyes of pride, a false tongue, hands which take life without cause;  (18)  A heart full of evil designs, feet which are quick in running after sin;  (19)  A false witness, breathing out untrue words, and one who lets loose violent acts among brothers.

Proverbs 26:28  A false tongue has hate for those who have clean hearts, and a smooth mouth is a cause of falling.

Where does the fuel for lying come from within a person? Why are people compelled to lie? In this
world, people lie for a number of reasons. However, do they even know why? Satan is said to be the father of lies. He deceives people daily in believing distorted truths in order to entrapped their souls from the heart beat of God.

John 8:43-45  Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word.  (44)  You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.  (45)  And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me.

Lies that the Devil tells.....
1. You are not good enough.
2. You will never amount to anything.
3. Everything is your fault.
4. It is ok to sin.
5. God is not real.
6. Your smarter than you know.
7. You have your own power.
8.  You need people or relationships.
9. You can do whatever you want; it only affects you.
10. God really didn't say that.

Satan's number one task is to destroy the people on this planet in spite of God. His hate and despising of the living God does back before the time of man. How can we get this truth to the world? The enemy is doing everything he can to deceive our children, our friends, our relatives, and everybody on the face of planet earth!

One thing is certain. The only way to conquer a lie is to declare the truth. Many have tried to down play God's word. His word is the truth which drowns out the lies. Satan is a dirty, filthy, liar. The father of all lies. We have the truth to spear shot the devil right between the eyes. Don't let the truth in you be over taken by the lies of this world. Let it shine and lets put a stop to the liar, liar, pants on fire for good.

The Cry to the United States Church

I really felt strongly this morning that the Lord desired to speak prophetically to His people. There were several nations which came to mind, but I felt led to start with the United States. God always desires to speak to  His people, and He hopes they will listen. His judgement, encouragement, correction, and edification comes first to His people.

1 Peter 4:12-19  Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial happening among you for your testing, as if a surprise were occurring to you;  (13)  but according as you share the sufferings of Christ, rejoice; so that you may rejoice exultingly at the revelation of His glory.  (14)  If you are reviled in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because "the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you." Truly, according to them, He is blasphemed; but according to you, He is glorified. Isa. 11:2  (15)  For do not let any of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a meddler in the affairs of others.  (16)  But if one suffers as a Christian, do not let him be ashamed, but to glorify God in this respect.  (17)  Because the time has come to begin the judgment from the house of God; and if firstly from us, what will be the end of the ones disobeying the gospel of God?  (18)  And "if the righteous is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?" Proverbs 11:31  (19)  So as indeed the ones suffering according to God's will, as to a faithful Creator, let them commit their souls in well-doing.

The Prophetic Word:

A fiery trial is coming for my believers in the United States. My church has not experienced what many believers have around the world, but the time is quickly approaching. Many will fall away because their faith is shallow and without root. Church of the US, you have become much like the church of Laodicea. You have turned to your own advances and have allowed my presence to be placed outside of your towers of self worship and indulgences. Many sit in their man made structures but don't know me. Many don't serve or desire to do more than sit in their comfortable chairs! Church of the US, your faithfulness has been declared throughout the world. You have sent missionaries and provided help to millions but it has not always been in the name of the Living God. Some of the missionaries have brought an American version of my faith to the nations and made many conform to their version. Church of the US., You have replaced the purity of my Message with the lie of relativism. You have created junkies who say they worship in my name but their character is not of me. My purpose and passion for my people has been replaced with ritual and self serving desires. Oh my blessed Church of the United States, you have been the nation who has splintered my church to many tribes. Tribes that have scattered across the world many stuck in their denomination beliefs and have ignored my word and message of unity. You call tolerance unity and religious ceremony faith. You have not learned from past mistakes but continue to grow deeper in your own deception. I cry for you my church. I cry for your change. I cry for your coming fiery trial. I cry for your purpose. My blessed church there are many of you who will rise from the ashes. There are many of you who will crawl out of the fire and begin to declare my name again. You will stir up my purpose for the nations. You will stir up my passion to the world. You will reveal my treasure to my people. The treasure is not of this earth. It is not your fancy houses or trinkets. My treasure is heavenly and can not be obtain by natural means. Have you forgotten my people to lay up your treasure in heaven? Have you forgotten that you are not living for this world in the present but for my heavenly purpose? Why have you placed your hope in things which will pass away? Things which will one day cease. Some of you have traded the pursuit of me with the pursuit of worldly desires.  Return to me before the fiery trial. Lay down your preconceived notions and come back to me. Be the church I have called you to be. Return back to the simplicity of my Message. You have made it complicated. You have tried to come out of the corrupt church but have become just as corrupt. It is time for my church, my Bride to arise. Stop, Stand, and allow my Spirit to shake your core.  Rejoice in my Message again. Be simple and shed off the cultural influences of my Faith in you. For those who come out of the ashes will be rewarded with my Heavenly reward. They will receive the crown of life. They will see me in all my glory. Look up to the Sky for my return approaches. I have not forgotten you. I have not forgotten you. I love you with all passion and will bring hope to the heavy hearted. Seek my purpose. Go deeper into my Message. Live my simple truth and repel the temptation to make my message something different. Oh Church of the United States, I love you deeply. Turn to me and arise from the ashes which will come from the fiery trial.

I know some reading this would say, " This does not pertain to my church or to my group." I would encourage you all to seek the heart of God. I am personally seeking Him more myself. I look around, and I must admit. I have allowed the cares of this world to sometimes consume me. I have fallen in love with withering trinkets and have weakened my passion for heavenly rewards. Life on this planet is temporary and just one year entrapped with worldly influences could hinder God's purpose in me. Just one year or day is precious to those of us who are stuck in decomposing bodies! The question I ask myself; I propose to you. Is what you are currently doing God's ultimate purpose for your life? Is what you are currently pursuing God's ultimate purpose for you life? Are you making the Gospel, this glorious message more complicated than what it really is? Who are you pouring into? Who are  you representing? Who are you serving. These are powerful questions that if answered with an honest heart could shake you to the core! I challenge you to test the prophetic word against God's word. I have placed some scriptures which strengthen this prophetic message below. Seek the Lord with all that is withing you.

Scriptures for the Prophetic word.

2 John 1:8-10  Keep watch over yourselves, so that you do not make our work of no effect, but may get your full reward.  (9)  Anyone who goes on and does not keep to the teaching of Christ, has not God: he who keeps to the teaching has the Father and the Son.  (10)  If anyone comes to you not having this teaching, do not take him into your house or give him words of love:

James 1:9-27  But let the brother of low position be glad that he is lifted up;  (10)  But the man of wealth, that he is made low; because like the flower of the grass he will come to his end.  (11)  For when the sun comes up with its burning heat, the grass gets dry and the grace of its form is gone with the falling flower; so the man of wealth comes to nothing in his ways.  (12)  There is a blessing on the man who undergoes testing; because, if he has God's approval, he will be given the crown of life, which the Lord has said he will give to those who have love for him.  (13)  Let no man say when he is tested, I am tested by God; for it is not possible for God to be tested by evil, and he himself puts no man to such a test:  (14)  But every man is tested when he is turned out of the right way by the attraction of his desire.  (15)  Then when its time comes, desire gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is of full growth, gives birth to death.  (16)  Do not be turned from the right way, dear brothers.  (17)  Every good and true thing is given to us from heaven, coming from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change or any shade made by turning.  (18)  Of his purpose he gave us being, by his true word, so that we might be, in a sense, the first-fruits of all the things which he had made.  (19)  You have knowledge of this, dear brothers. But let every man be quick in hearing, slow in words, slow to get angry;  (20)  For the righteousness of God does not come about by the wrath of man.  (21)  For this reason, putting away all dirty behaviour and the overweight of evil, take into your souls without pride the word which, being planted there, is able to give you salvation.  (22)  But be doers of the word, and not only hearers of it, blinding yourselves with false ideas.  (23)  Because if any man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a glass;  (24)  For after looking at himself he goes away, and in a short time he has no memory of what he was like.  (25)  But he who goes on looking into the true law which makes him free, being not a hearer without memory but a doer putting it into effect, this man will have a blessing on his acts.  (26)  If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his tongue but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man's religion is of no value.  (27)  The religion which is holy and free from evil in the eyes of our God and Father is this: to take care of children who have no fathers and of widows who are in trouble, and to keep oneself untouched by the world.

Revelation 3:14-22  And to the angel of the church in Laodicea say: These things says the true and certain witness, the head of God's new order:  (15)  I have knowledge of your works, that you are not cold or warm: it would be better if you were cold or warm.  (16)  So because you are not one thing or the other, I will have no more to do with you.  (17)  For you say, I have wealth, and have got together goods and land, and have need of nothing; and you are not conscious of your sad and unhappy condition, that you are poor and blind and without clothing.  (18)  If you are wise you will get from me gold tested by fire, so that you may have true wealth; and white robes to put on, so that your shame may not be seen; and oil for your eyes, so that you may see.  (19)  To all those who are dear to me, I give sharp words and punishment: then with all your heart have sorrow for your evil ways.  (20)  See, I am waiting at the door and giving the sign; if my voice comes to any man's ears and he makes the door open, I will come in to him, and will take food with him and he with me.  (21)  To him who overcomes I will give a place with me on my high seat, even as I overcame, and am seated with my Father on his high seat.  (22)  He who has ears, let him give ear to what the Spirit says to the churches.
