Carry Your Name

Galatians 3:26-28  You are all God's children by believing in Christ Jesus.  (27)  Clearly, all of you who were baptized in Christ's name have clothed yourselves with Christ.  (28)  There are neither Jews nor Greeks, slaves nor free people, males nor females. You are all the same in Christ Jesus.

Those who believe in the infinite Lord are now His children. We belong to His great name. The scripture says have clothed ourselves with Christ. We have His character. We have His passion, and we have  His desire to see all changed by His power. We should be carriers of His Name to the nations.

St. Bernard was a priest who ministered to the people of the ALPS. His passion was to see these people come to saving knowledge of Christ. For Forty years, he preached the gospel seeing many conversions and many miracles.

Since the ancient of times there was a path that crossed from the ALPS to the Valley of Aosta. During the winter months this path would be covered with several feet of snow. The journey was treacherous and life threatening. St. Bernard decided to build a monastery and a hospice at the highest point of path. ( 8,000 feet). A few years later, he created another hospice at a different point for the adventurous travels.  The Augustinian monks were left in charge of each place. During the heavy snowy months, the monks would venture out into the cold with their big and friendly dogs and rescue any travelers trapped in the snowy abyss. To this day, those dogs carry the name of the priest who thought more about his fellow man than he did himself. The St. Bernard breed of dogs still are used to this day for rescue and retrieval of many trapped in the treacherous storms of the ALPS. They are reminders to who St. Bernard was as a man of God for they carry his name.

What about you and I? Do we carry the name of Christ with the same type of dignity and love? We are carriers of His Name. Everything Jesus stood for. Everything Jesus was and is must rest upon his people. We carry inside of us the truth and the hope for all mankind. Carry HIM where ever you go. Carry HIM throughout your life and become a world changer.
