Giving it All

Romans 12:1-3  Brothers and sisters, in view of all we have just shared about God's compassion, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you.  (2)  Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect.  (3)  Because of the kindness that God has shown me, I ask you not to think of yourselves more highly than you should. Instead, your thoughts should lead you to use good judgment based on what God has given each of you as believers.

Just sitting here worshiping the Lord and thinking about life with Him. I know many don't understand this relationship of man with his God. It is a mystery only to those who don't have one.  So much of the world is entering into our congregations these days. So much of the world's message is taking over the Gospel message and many are falling for the deception.  We are called to surrender all to the Lord. My life should be one of dedication not because I am forced to. It is done through my love and passion for Him. Then the warning is given to not become like the people of the world. What does that mean? Well the liberal world today thinks differently than God.  They believe in living they way they want to. They rationalized sin to fit their own lustful desires. They are more self-centered and demanding on others. The world's system is corrupt and evil because it is controled by the prince and the power of the air. Yet , the church has allowed much of the world's thought processes to enter in.

We are called to give all to the Lord. Like a bride who surrenders herself to her groom on the honeymoon night; we too are called to give all. This means leaving the corruption behind and following after the Lord. Our speech should be different. Our lifestyle should be different. Our love for others should be different. Our stance on justice and morality should be different. Knowing Christ and living for Him means surrendering all of the old self to the Living God. If we don't think like the world anymore then we can know what God is saying to us more clearly.

Giving all means calling sin, SIN. Too many Christians are making excuses for their blatant sin. The New Testament of the Bible gives several verses of what sin is. I don't understand why we are standing around scratching our heads. Just give up yourself and follow his word. If you mess up repent and call on His name. It is that simple. The key is giving up all to Him. All my ideas, all my worldly desires, everything I surrender to Him. Christians and the world stop calling those who try to passionately follow His word religious or lunatics when deep down you know you are not right with Him. Stop rationalizing your behavior and start surrendering to the one true God. His word is clear and liberating. I know what my sin is, and I know who can conquer it. I know what sin does to me and everyone around me. I admit that I have sin, and I run to the ONLY ONE who can deliver me. I desire to give that life away for a better life in Christ. I need Him. I desire Him more than ever. He is my strong tower and my mighty fortress. Either we love Him completely or we don't . Either we give Him our all or we don't. There is no in between.

Going into the world

Currently, I am sitting in JFK International Airport waiting to catch a plane to Guyana, South America. I am here with my wife, two daughters, and two great gentlemen from the church we attend. ( Grandview Assembly of God). It think about how far we have come and how great our God is. Every person, with the exception of me, is enduring their first missions trip. They are excited but nervous at the same time.

I can't help but wonder what is driving us to do this thing? What is compelling us to reach out of our comfort zones and fly to another country? I have to believe there is something or someone rather who is leading us to achieve the impossible. The impossible being within us;people allowing the Lord to do a work in their individual lives.

Amy Carmichael , missionary to India, had this to say about missions " Humdrum we have called the work, and humdrum it is. There is nothing romantic about potters except in poetry, nor is there much romance about missions except on platforms and in books. Yet " though it's dull at whiles," there is joy in the doing it, there is joy in just obeying. He said " Go, tell," and we have come and are telling, and we meet Him as we " go and tell."

We are not going to just bring the Love of Christ to this wonderful nation. We are going to allow the Love of Christ to be revealed inside and out of us.

Jesus gave us the command to go but go with a purpose.

Matthew 28:18-20  When Jesus came near, he spoke to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  (19)  So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  (20)  Teach them to do everything I have commanded you. "And remember that I am always with you until the end of time."

  1. We are called to GO with Authority.  (We literally have the backing from the Living God and heaven on our side.) The Authority is through Jesus and we are over comers with Him.
  2. We are called to GO and make Disciples.  Can't make disciples if you are not one first.
  3.  We are to GO and Baptize them (  Baptize them in water and see them baptized in Holy Spirit.)
  4. We are to GO and teach them to be like Jesus. Got to be like Jesus first before you can teach it.
  5. When We GO we are told that Jesus is with us ALWAYS.
He is with us now and forever. He is keeping us safe and giving us the strength to endure until the end. At the Finishing of this blog, I am in Guyana. We have come to a close of our first day. My family and Skyler did a great job helping out in VBS and Gary and I helped with some construction needs. Over all not a bad day. We will share the Love of Christ and preach it before this week  is out. God will guide us and use us greatly. All because we have chosen to GO INTO ALL THE WORLD and FOLLOW HIM TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD.

Nobody's Nobody

No human connection.
No strong affection.
Forgotten about and left alone.
Tossed aside and thrown.

Like a pebble in a secret pond.
Never thought about to fond.
Things done for them in the past.
Become memories that never last.

They moved on and left the man in the dust.
Spit out his actions and abandon his trust.
They climb up in their own self desires.
And throw his compassion in the fires.

They make him the enemy for their own wrongs.
Leaving the man wondering where he belongs.
He wanders the desert through a heart of condemnation.
No reason to live no reason left to imagination.

Why do they forget the love once given to them?
They mistakenly throw it away like a precious gem.
The pain is over bearing at times and never seems to heal.
It scraps away the flesh and leaves no hope to feel.

He will never be remembered and never given any recognition.
He has been made into a forgotten memory and an apparition.
The knives go deep and the blood pours out.
It spills on the floor with heavy doubt.

He has become Nobody's Nobody.
He will never be Somebody's Somebody.
He will continue to wonder what he did wrong.
In His heart , there becomes a dying song.

He is Nobody's Nobody.

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
