The Suffering

Psalms 22:1-10  For the choir director; according to ayyeleth hashachar; a psalm by David. My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away from helping me, so far away from the words of my groaning?  (2)  My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer- also at night, but I find no rest.  (3)  Yet, you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.  (4)  Our ancestors trusted you. They trusted, and you rescued them.  (5)  They cried to you and were saved. They trusted you and were never disappointed.  (6)  Yet, I am a worm and not a man. I am scorned by humanity and despised by people.  (7)  All who see me make fun of me. Insults pour from their mouths. They shake their heads and say,  (8)  "Put yourself in the LORD'S hands. Let the LORD save him! Let God rescue him since he is pleased with him!"  (9)  Indeed, you are the one who brought me out of the womb, the one who made me feel safe at my mother's breasts.  (10)  I was placed in your care from birth. From my mother's womb you have been my God.

The Spirit of Christ was exemplified in the lives of the old Testament prophets and through the lives of those mentioned in Psalms. King David would endure much in His life and show the world about the suffering of Christ. The is a glory that awaits all you endure the back lashings of this world. A crowd of Glory and Life given to those who endure to the end. Jesus came and endure those triumph sufferings for our benefit, and now our lives imitate His.

We all have a sorrowful complaint when our Lord appears to be absent from our midst during times of despair. Our spiritual desertions are proof of our journey with the Lord, and of God's eternal purpose for all. Jesus hung on a cross crying, " My God, My God, why have you forsaken me." He wondered in amazement the heaviness of sin and how far it places us from the intimate presence of the Lord. Enduring hardships will remain until the complete work in us is over. We will go through trials and tribulations. We will feel the times of distance from our Lord, but our sorest affliction will exercise our spiritual senses. They will draw us closer to Him and reveal His glory in us. Hang on loved one of God. Hang on Friend of the Great Friend. Redemption is yet a moment away and His comfort is soon to engulf your life.
