There are two types of Greek words which mean "TIME" in the Bible. One being Chronos which means chronological or sequential time. The time on your clock is chronos. It is a set time we have each day.  Then there is Kairos which means a time in between chronos where something special happens.  It can mean the appointed time in which God acts.

We are called to use our time wisely.

Ephesians 5:15-17  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  (16)  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  (17)  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Time in this instance is Kairos. The scripture tells us that we have the power to redeem the time of life. We can't control Chronos ( seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years)  Our human body is bound to the limits  of Chronos but through Holy Spirit we can redeem Kairos or time. It is sad that we focus so much of our resources trying to slow down or prevent the passing of time ( Chronos.) We should be focused on the moment or the appointments of time God has in store for us. It is all about matching our will with His will.

It is good to understand Chronos but not be overwhelmed with it. We do have a short time on the planet ,and that is why it is important to shift our mindsets from Chronos to Kairos. We have to make a difference in this world before Chronos overtakes us. There are moments of Kairos which are waiting for us to seize. Carpem Dieum!

Jesus revealed to us a different point of view when we are discussing about time. It is not about the seconds, minutes, or hours. It is about the moment within the Chronos. Jesus did more in 3 years than most people do in a life time. He understood Kairos and how to walk in it.  What are we going to do about the moment? The moments come and go so quickly. It is up to us to know when they arrive and follow the plan of God for each situation.

Matthew 13:30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
The Time or Kairos of the Harvest is a moment we are all called to as believers. Jesus was trying to teach the disciples the difference between the passing of the Sun and the purpose of the Son.

1 Peter 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

We are commanded to stay humble before the Lord and He will lift us up in due time or Kairos. There are moments in our space/time existence that the Living God will chose to bring His message through us. We have to stay humble and obedient. The moment awaits for the obedient hearts.  Pride is the enemy of the State. It prevents the heart of man from finding the moments in God like we should. Embrace humility and throw out pride. If you have to tell others you are humble then you are not humble. It is a persona.

1 Peter 1:3-5  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  (4)  To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,  (5)  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

We have to live in a world that is bound to Chronos. Time is ticking away for all of us. The clock can't be stopped. By the way, the clock is a man made invention not a God creation. We consume ourselves with time ( Chronos) God is calling us within the moment. ( Kairos) He has staged different moments for us to walk in. One last moment will be His salvation revealed through us to all the world. His power is keeping us for such a time as this.

So what does all my rhetoric mean? Let your watch be used to tell you the time of the day but let the spiritual watch of Christ tell you about the moments and seasons of God. We can know them if we just listen. Don't let what has happen in the physical boundaries of time stop you from fulfilling the call of God on your life. We are all called. We all have a purpose through the Lord. The only two positions in church life you can be is not missionary or Pastor. There is much more to the Body of Christ than that.

Be sensitive to Holy Spirit's unctions and follow Him into the godly moments. Your life will be more fulfilled.
