Chase me little Duckie

Growing up we lived in several different places. One such place was Sandy Springs, GA. We lived in a rented house which had a barn in the back yard and a big open field to the side. My dad planted a garden ( we were the rock removers), and we had the world's smallest farm. We had chickens,a sheep dog, cats, and of course two ducks. ( Daisy and Donald)( I know we were not too original.) We would chase those ducks around and just cause havoc. We were little kids and full of adventure. Ok not full of adventure maybe full mischief is the better wording. Donald ( our male duck of course) would sometimes chase us while riding our bikes. He would waddle , as fast as he could, next to the pedaling bike. All the while snapping at our feet. It is forever edged in my mind. One day, without any provoking, I got on my bike and rode. Donald comes flying , low to the grown, right next to me. He decided to chase me. He would do this quit often when we were out and about riding our bikes or feeding the chickens.  Maybe that was the  reason. He knew we were the ones who would give him and Daisy food. He knew where his source of life came from. We would take a hose and fill up his kiddie pool and sometimes spray them both with the hose. They loved it.  It was a joy taking care of them and watching them waddle across the yard.

I wonder if we are like that for our Lord. Do we chase after Him? Are we hungry for more of His presence? Do we know, like Donald did, He is our source for sustaining  life? The Living God is our source of life. He is the one who can fulfill all our hopes and dreams. He is the one who goes at after our hearts in hopes we will run and fly after His. Today , think about your relationship with the Father. How deeper can you go in knowing Him? When is the last time you ran after His heart?

Psalms 42:1-11  For the choir director; a maskil by Korah's descendants. As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God.  (2)  My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When may I come to see God's face?  (3)  My tears are my food day and night. People ask me all day long, "Where is your God?"  (4)  I will remember these things as I pour out my soul: how I used to walk with the crowd and lead it in a procession to God's house. I sang songs of joy and thanksgiving while crowds of people celebrated a festival.  (5)  Why are you discouraged, my soul? Why are you so restless? Put your hope in God, because I will still praise him. He is my savior and my God.  (6)  My soul is discouraged. That is why I will remember you in the land of Jordan, on the peaks of Hermon, on Mount Mizar.  (7)  One deep sea calls to another at the roar of your waterspouts. All the whitecaps on your waves have swept over me.  (8)  The LORD commands his mercy during the day, and at night his song is with me- a prayer to the God of my life.  (9)  I will ask God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk around in mourning while the enemy oppresses me?"  (10)  With a shattering blow to my bones, my enemies taunt me. They ask me all day long, "Where is your God?"  (11)  Why are you discouraged, my soul? Why are you so restless? Put your hope in God, because I will still praise him. He is my savior and my God.

The Quest "Cloak of Innocence"

I am on a Quest to find El ha-Gibbor and to know Him more. It is the greatest quest anyone could ever embark on. My world is in the center from what is evil and what is good. Evil appears to have dominance in my realm and many fall to its power. The Wraiths of Abaddon consistently strike the foolish and chain their souls to planet's filthy ground. They feed off the souls of thousands who have surrendered to their will, and if you are not protected by El ha- Gibbor then your soul is subject to the feeding. Many of the Wraiths have made allegiances with several kingdoms of the realm and seek to fully control the people of our planet. Evil lives to squeeze out the good. Much of my realm has fallen to such evil. Darkness covers many realms and our quest will take us through several of them.

There is good here, but even those who belong to El ha-Gibbor are falling to the power of the Wraiths. The doctrine of the Abaddon has entered into many of our settlements. It is a trickery teaching and many fall to the lie. Even I have been subject to such trickery. If it were not for preservation of the Holy Creed, then my soul would succumb to the ravaging hunger from the Wraiths. It is so hard here. Truth is now false and the false is now the Truth. Many follow after their lustful desires and call it good. The Creed is clear but the individual interpretations are corrupt. Sometimes it is so hard to fight. Sometimes it is so hard to withstand. There are times where I fall to my own lustful desires and my heart of seeking is vanquished. NO MORE!  There is a journey I must endure. There is a Quest I must embark on, and I will not stop until I have traveled to the utmost regions of the realm.

There are five items which are given to us from El ha- Gibbor. ( Cloak of Innocence, the crown of grace, the ring of fire, the shield of adoration, and the sword of reliance.) All five lead to the greatest prize of all. STANDING BEFORE EL HA-GIBBOR! The Quest is not easy and the items are easy to obtain but the flesh is not always willing. The flesh must endure the beating in order for the Quest to reach it's prize. What are the five items you ask? The Holy Creed tells us. All the items can only be fully powered by El ha-Gibbor. Only He can give life to our dying souls. My first part of the Quest is to find the cloak of innocence. Very few are wearing their cloaks any more. Those that do wear the white cloaks have unwashed stains on them. It is hard to fine a pure cloak of innocence. The Wraith doctrine has tricked so many. My passion to is rediscover this cloak for my life. I must journey far and fight through much evil to find it.

The maps for my journey are collected in the pages of the Holy Creed. It alone is the sacred grail of truth for all mankind. My first journey on this quest is for the cloak of innocence. It lies in a cave within the snowy mountains of Sanctimonia. I must travel on the path of Hagios for three days and three nights in order to reach the edge of Sanctimonia. The Path of Hagios exists on a different plain than my world. The Holy Creed speaks of El ha-Gibbor revealing the Path of Hagios to us through his great power. Therefore , I embark on my journey with the Holy Creed in one hand and a staff in another. I know El ha-Gibbor with guide me.

It has taken me a days journey to reach the edge of my realm. It is said that Hagios will appear when the eyes of man have been blinded by the light of El-ha Gibbor. "El-ha Gibbor I submit myself to your light. Your Holy Creed declares that you will reveal Hagios to the seekers while the nations stand and watch. I ask for your revelation so I can travel to Sanctimonia. I seek your cloak of innocence not for my own glory but for yours." Instantly a portal of light begins to open before my teary eyes. The path of Hagios is revealed. It is a path made from pure gold, and I see no signs of impurity. I step into the portal and onto the path. Instantly my entire body begins to alter into a different state. I begin to lose myself in the light from the golden path.  Touching Hagios is like touching the heart of El-ha Gibbor, and I can sense His presence with me now.

I take three days and three nights to travel to the end of Hagios. My flesh is tired and beaten. There are blisters on my feet and my muscles are weak. But it is good for I have lost myself at the beginning. The Portal opens at the base of Sanctimonia. The journey is just beginning. Can I make it to the top of the mountain? The cave which houses the cloak of innocence is there. I am afraid to leave the path and enter into the deep freeze. The snow is falling hard and in big bright flakes. The whiteness is blinding when the sun reflects upon it, but it is necessary. I bundle up and step into the coldness and immediately my flesh reacts. My hands begin to tighten and my muscles begin to stiffen. I must press forward. I want the cloak so badly. Not for self gratification but for the love of El-ha Gibbor. I seek His innocence and His purity of heart. I miss it so. I feel better when I am in His innocence. I feel like the world is frozen in time and eternity tickles my spirit.

The trek through the snow is tough but I have made it to the edge of the mountain. Now I must prepare for the climb. The Holy Creed declares Wolves and lambs will feed together, lions will eat straw like oxen, and dust will be food for snakes. "They will not hurt or destroy anyone anywhere on my holy mountain," says El-ha Gibbor. I will trust His word. I make my ascent up the treacherous rock. Each inch brings me closer to the cave and to the cloak. There is something about my fingers grabbing a hold onto each rock. The calluses are engrained into my hands but I must reach the top. Passion births persistence for something you desire to obtain. When you are trying to obtain innocence there will always be obstacles which stand in your way. There will be forces which will try to hinder your quest. Holy Creed says for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Wraiths are near me. I can feel their evil. What I am searching for will bring destruction to their camp. I see the shadows flying over me like vultures waiting for an afternoon meal. I must press forward. It is not worth having unless you are willing to risk all to obtain it. The flying Wraiths get closer and are flying by with more force because I am reaching the top. I wonder what awaits me up there. They land at the top with swords in their hands. All I have is a staff and a book of truth. I climb over the edge ,and I stand quickly for the battle  I can see the cave's entrance but they are guarding it with unity.  They taunt me and say " Give it up." I must press through them and enter the cave. The Creed says for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through El-ha Gibbor to the pulling down of strong holds. I call upon my strength in El-ha Gibbor, and I know He will overcome for me.

The Wraiths come at me with their swords with fiery eyes a blazing. All I have is my staff. I trust it will be enough. The swords come thrusting at me. One gashes my side and blood pours out. I manage to dodge the others. I take my staff and swirl it in their direction in hopes one is hit by my wrath. They are fast and push me to the ground and the chants begin to come at me. " You will never be pure." " Look at all the things you have done." " You will never be good enough." " You innocence is no more sinner!!!"  I must rather have the sword cutting my flesh than hearing those words. I am a sinner. I am an evil man. I have failed many times and succumb to my lustful desires.  Oh wicked man that I am, but I desire purity. I desire His innocence resting upon me again. Lust sucks the life out of a man and leaves behind an empty corpse. There is no true fulfillment. It leaves you searching for the next fix. Foolishness settles into the heart of men when they have given up the will to fight against their lustful desires. Oh I declare the words from the Holy Creed, Blessed be El-ha Gibbor my strength, which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: I will stand and fight against the ones who are after my soul. Oh that the world could see their hideousness. Oh if they could awaken from the soulish slumber brought about by years of sinful desires.  The enemy does not want us. He wants us dead. Abaddon means destroyer, and he is out to do just that. The Wraiths are his minions who forever scrounge the earth for sinful hearts. They are soul feeders, and they feed off of the sin within.

I feel His strength within me. I will not stay down. I will not be pushed off this mountain and I will obtain the prize. On the other side of these monsters is my cloak. I must press on. I stand to my feet and with one fell swoop I hit all of my assailants with the staff. They sore backwards and crush against the rocky side of the mountain. Here is my moment. Here is my chance. If I can make it to the cave entrance; they will disappear. Evil can not overcome righteousness once it has been transformed into a willing vessel. I run with all my might and make it to the entrance. The monsters of hate disappear with wailing in their voices. All my wounds. All my sorrow has brought me to this moment. I enter in and see the reflecting light in the distance. I draw closer and see the beauty of the cloak. It is so pure. Not one spot rest upon it. Suddenly a voice extends beyond the cave. " What do you seek?"  I......I  seek the cloak of Innocence my Lord.  " Why?"  B......because I want purity in my life again. I am tired of living a double life. I want the purity of my El-ha Gibbor. " Then come and receive this cloak freely. You have answered well. No man can obtain purity without knowing the one who is pure. Come and allow me to place this cloak upon you."  I slowly walk to the center of the cave where the cloak floated in mid air. My head looking up and trying to find the body to the mysterious voice. I reach my destination and stand there with tears running down my face. Forgive me for all I have done dear Lord. I just want to be clean. Restore to me your innocence of life. Instantly the cloak is placed upon me and I hear the voice one more time. " I am proud of you my son. Go and spread my message to the realm. Don't be afraid and never live in condemnation again. I freely give you my innocence because my love for you is strong. Continue to seek after righteousness and never fall for the lies of the enemy. The day is coming where the realm will be altered by my power and all the world may know who is El-ha Gibbor."  Once I heard this. I fell to my knees in amazing. My Hero has spoken to me? He has shared His great love with me? Who am I ? I felt like one of the patriarchs in the Holy Creed who said " Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts." I can feel the cloak transforming my flesh , soul, and spirit. I felt the complete washing from within; it was such a holy moment.  Living pure is the first key to becoming a warrior for El-ha Gibbor. Staying pure will be the next task. As long as I wear this cloak and passionately follow after my Lord; then the innocence will remain. All the stains are gone! All the cuts and bruises have disappeared! I am a new creation! A new man once again!  I stand on the side of the cliff  looking down upon the land. I am changed. I am renewed. I have a new purpose and the blindness has been removed. I will go back to my realm and share my experience. I hope I can help others to find their cloak. Wherever there is hope their is the faith to believe for the impossible. I will not climb back down this mountain. I will soar to the bottom. I leap off. Yes, me. Leaping off of a side of mountain. Was I crazy? Not crazy but filled with hope. I don't fall to the bottom. I float with the cloak of innocence spread out like wings. I reach the bottom and plant my feet into the snowy ground. I shall never forget this journey. My first Quest is over but I have four more to go. The best and the worse is yet to come. The fight with the Wraiths is not over but I stand in the blessed assurance. Like the Holy Creed tells us. I can do all things through El-ha Gibbor who strengthens me.

A Quest is a long arduous search for something. It is the pursuit of something which is priceless or valuable. There is a Quest I would like to propose to the world. The Quest of Jesus. He is not lost by no means but only those who are willing to journey can find Him. For me, I continue my Quest of knowing the Living God in a greater way. Does that sound freaky? Those who have never plunged into the Quest will never understand the infallible desire to seek someone bigger than yourself.  When one is on a Quest, all nonessentials fall to the side in order to keep the focus on what lies ahead. The above story was about the Quest we must all take in life. It has always been our destiny to know and love the Lord because He has first loved us.  Are we arduous for His Holiness and Purity? How long do we stay bound to our sin? If a move of God is going to happen in our churches and gatherings, then the people of God must first seek after His purity again. Repentance ushers in the times of refreshing from the Lord.

Acts 3:19-20  So change the way you think and act, and turn to God to have your sins removed.  (20)  Then times will come when the Lord will refresh you. He will send you Jesus, whom he has appointed to be the Christ.

We need Jesus to come into our churches again. So much corruption has entered in. So much lies have not been filtered. We must cry out for purity once again and it starts within each individual.

Oh that we could have a heart like King David. He did sin in his life, but guess what? He only fell into that sin ONCE and never returned to its demands.

Psalm 119:104-107  From your guiding principles I gain understanding. That is why I hate every path that leads to lying.  (105)  Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.  (106)  I took an oath, and I will keep it. I took an oath to follow your regulations, which are based on your righteousness.  (107)  I have suffered so much. Give me a new life, O LORD, as you promised.

We are commanded to hate evil at no matter the cost

Romans 12:9  Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good.

We must hold on to purity and never let it out of our sight. We must wear the cloak of innocence and keep it pure until the return of our Lord. Whether people want to believe it or not. Does not negate the truth that we fight against a real enemy. Yes, Jesus won it all on the cross. Yes,  the victory was made through his Resurrection. Yes, we are people who are transformed by His power. We must live these truths each day, but the enemy has not been locked up yet. There is a purpose that only the Living God fully understands. The enemy knows he is defeated but His defeat does not do well with loneliness. He desires to deceive many in order to give them the same fate he himself will have.  Loved ones, allow Holy Spirit to reveal the truth.  Run after purity and seek His righteousness.  Learn from the Word of God.

2 Peter 3:9-18  The Lord isn't slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn't want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act.  (10)  The day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day heaven will pass away with a roaring sound. Everything that makes up the universe will burn and be destroyed. The earth and everything that people have done on it will be exposed.  (11)  All these things will be destroyed in this way. So think of the kind of holy and godly lives you must live  (12)  as you look forward to the day of God and eagerly wait for it to come. When that day comes, heaven will be on fire and will be destroyed. Everything that makes up the universe will burn and melt.  (13)  But we look forward to what God has promised-a new heaven and a new earth-a place where everything that has God's approval lives.  (14)  Therefore, dear friends, with this to look forward to, make every effort to have him find you at peace, without spiritual stains or blemishes.  (15)  Think of our Lord's patience as an opportunity for us to be saved. This is what our dear brother Paul wrote to you about, using the wisdom God gave him.  (16)  He talks about this subject in all his letters. Some things in his letters are hard to understand. Ignorant people and people who aren't sure of what they believe distort what Paul says in his letters the same way they distort the rest of the Scriptures. These people will be destroyed.  (17)  Dear friends, you already know these things. So be on your guard not to be carried away by the deception of people who have no principles. Then you won't fall from your firm position.  (18)  But grow in the good will and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glory belongs to him now and for that eternal day! Amen.

Understanding the Life of Purity

1. The Lord is patient and desires for all to have a life of purity.
2. There will come a day where impurity is revealed by the Light of Christ.
3. We have God's approval when we simply and freely accept Him.
4. In the Last days many will distort what is actually being said through holiness.
5.  We have to constantly be on our guard in order to fight against impurity.
6.  Purity is something you must grow in.

The questions:

  1. Who do you think El-ha Gibbor is in our story?
  2. What do the mountains represent?
  3. What does the path represent?
  4. Was there any significance to the three days and three nights journey.
  5. Who are the Wraiths?
  6. Who is Abaddon?
  7. What does the cloak of innocence represent?
  8. What are the other Five items to quest after?
  9. How can you use this story for your life?
  10. How important is purity to you?

Being the Example of Christ

Romans 12:9-21
(9)  Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good.
(10)  Be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other.
(11)  Don't be lazy in showing your devotion. Use your energy to serve the Lord.
(12)  Be happy in your confidence, be patient in trouble, and pray continually.
(13)  Share what you have with God's people who are in need. Be hospitable.
(14)  Bless those who persecute you. Bless them, and don't curse them.
(15)  Be happy with those who are happy. Be sad with those who are sad.
(16)  Live in harmony with each other. Don't be arrogant, but be friendly to humble people. Don't think that you are smarter than you really are.
(17)  Don't pay people back with evil for the evil they do to you. Focus your thoughts on those things that are considered noble.
(18)  As much as it is possible, live in peace with everyone.
(19)  Don't take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let God's anger take care of it. After all, Scripture says, "I alone have the right to take revenge. I will pay back, says the Lord."
(20)  But, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. If you do this, you will make him feel guilty and ashamed."
(21)  Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good.

I was just reading this passage in my personal devotion and wanted to divulge some simple truths.

  1. . Love Sincerely.  One thing I have discovered in life is don't say you love someone unless you mean it. For me, I mean it.  I really don't desire to hate anyone. Hate takes too much effort, so why do it. Being bitter over what some may or may not have done to you is too tiring. I personally don't desire to waste my time on hating or being bitter over someone. It is too over rated. We are commanded to love sincerely and not throw it out like watermelon rims into a rubbish pit. If the greatest love of all lives inside of you and I is it really that hard to love others? When I think about LOVE SINCERELY. I think of the life of Corrie Ten Boom. She lived during World War II. Her family harbored Jewish refugees and protected them from the Nazis. When they were discovered, her family was placed in concentration camps. Her father died 10 days afterwards. Her nephew, brother, and sister were released but Corrie and her other sister Betsie where still held in the camp. Before Betsie died she wanted to teach her sister not to hate but love those who persecuted them. On her death bed she told Corrie,  "There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still."  Corrie Ten Boom was the only survivor from the camp. Once she was released;she later devoted her life traveling the world preaching on God's love and forgiveness.  How far does this LOVE inside of us go?
  2. Hate Evil and hold on to what is good: We are commanded to hate evil in many places in the word of God. What is evil? How do we show our hate to it? Evil is anything opposite of God's goodness. The bible tells us to hate evil. To fear the LORD is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, evil behavior, and twisted speech. (Proverbs 8:13)  Does that happen all the time for me? NO!!!! I wish I could say yes.   I am reminded of the following scriptures. Oh wretched man that I am. I AM THE CHIEF OF ALL SINNERS like Paul the Apostle said,  For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do, I know not. For what I desire, that I do not do; but what I hate, that I do. If then I do that which I do not desire, I consent to the law that it is good. But now it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing. For to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I do not find. (Rom 7:14-18) Maybe if I hated evil more; I would not fall into sin sometimes. LOL!!! What about you? One day, as a child, my family was visiting my Aunt and cousins. In the woods at my cousins' house was this huge tree and way up in the air was a massive branch stretching out as far as I could see. Dangling from the branch was a long 6 inch thick cow rope. There was a knot tied at the end. This became our Tarzan swing. We would swing for hours. Because we were high in the air, we had to hold on tight to the rope or we would fall off. The rope became your life line. You knew letting go would be disastrous. It is the same with holding on to the goodness of God. We must treat it as our life line and never let go. For it is!!!!!
  3. Be devoted to each other:  Having devotion means committing to some purpose or laying down your life for something you believe in. We are commanded to have devotion to one another.  We all have families but did you know that the Christian family should be the extension of our regular families. God designed it that way. Families are important and should be loving to one another,  but there is something about being a part of a Christian community as well. You feel like you can conquer the world and walk on fire. We need each other like it or not. We need to have passion for each other and be willing to lay our lives down. This is the word of the Lord. Read this story about a mother who had cancer during her pregnancy with her unborn child and decided not to abort the child.
  4. Show Respect to one another: There are certain levels of respect but the basic level of respect should be given at all times to each other. We are not savages or evil people set out to destroy the world. We are believers,  and Jesus has placed an expectation on our character. When I was in Suriname years ago. We were walking in the downtown district.  Sitting on the side walk was a man with no legs. They were cut off at the groin area.  He was an older gentleman and he would scoot himself along with cardboard underneath him. Many just walked by him and did not once stop to speak to him. I stopped and stared into his huge puppy dog eyes. I could feel the tears muster up inside of me. I simply said hello to the man and greeted him with kindness. His face changed from a painful demeanor to a great big smile. He just wanted some respect. We all want it. We all need it. Believers should readily give it. Everybody deserves just a little bit of respect. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
  5. Don't be lazy, use your energy to serve the Lord.  All of our life should be devoted to the Lord's work wherever that may be. Be faithful over the small things and God will give you much. Every modern day revival was first saturated with a group of people praying and fasting. A group of people willing to lay their lives down for the gospel. Charles Finney and a group of Christians fasted and prayed for 6 years before the second great Awakening took place. Evan Roberts and some fellow believers fasted and prayed for 5 years before the Welch Revival became a phenomenon. The Welch Revival sparked other great moves of God all around the world. These few individuals used all their energy to serve the Lord. They reaped the results of their labor as well.
  6. Be Happy in the Confidence. Rejoice in the blessed hope we all have in Jesus. Our hope is the fuel to our faith. We have plenty to be thankful for. There is one person who sticks out in my head of being someone happy in the Confidence he had obtained through Christ. His name was Philbert Herinques. He was a 6' plus of a man. He was always smiling and always showing the passion and love of Christ. Every time I was with him on my mission trips to Guyana; my spirit would be encouraged. I knew of the many struggles he and his family had endured over the years, but he still trusted in the Lord. His confidence and faith was infectious and I miss him. He died doing the work of the Lord. We are taking a team from our church down to Guyana this summer, and they will see first hand the legacy this man of God has left behind. It is on the faces of his wife and children. Truly he was a man who was confident in his Lord. I am forever grateful for his friendship and his faith.
  7. Be patient in Trouble:  Sometimes when we are going through things we want to rush God and get the pain over with. We fail to see that He is using the situation to do His work within us. Oysters form pearls because they were first introduced to an irritant which lodged between the mantle and the shell. The Oyster's natural reaction is to cover up the irritant with nacre which is the same substance that forms the shell.Over time this cover up or defensive measure does not get rid of the irritant but forms it into what we know as a pearl. All of our troubles and pain can produce something priceless within us if we allow Holy Spirit to work. Troubles will come what we do with them will make the difference.
  8. Pray Continually: Paul must have felt this was an important task to do. He mentioned it again to the Thessalonians. 1Thessalonians 5:17  Never stop praying. Prayer shakes the nations and puts the heart of man in right standing with his God. We have to communicate with the Lord. We have to talk with Him and build relationship with Him. The more you spend time with the Lord; the more His character begins to reign in you. Jesus prayed continuously and showed us how to do the same. The times I have fallen into sin are due to a lack of an active prayer life. Prayer changes things because we are putting our whole trust at the feet of the living God. When I was younger I read a biography of a true prayer warrior. His whole life was wrapped around prayer. His ministry was effective because of his active prayer life. His name was Rees Howells. I still have that book. I strategically placed it into my kids bathroom,so they can discover some nuggets of truth from a man of God's life. Here is a clip from Wikipedia.
Rees Howells (10 October 1879 – 13 February 1950) was the founder of The Bible College of Wales.Howells was born in Brynamman in Carmarthenshire, Wales. When he was 12 years old he left school and worked in a tin mill and coal mine. He was affected by the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival. He and his wife were later missionaries in Africa. He was led down the path of intercession for many years, before seeing Revival across Southern Africa from 1915-1920. The rise of Adolf Hitler and the outbreak of World War II also marked a period of strong activity in Howells' ministry of intercession. In 1924 he founded the Bible College of Wales, now called Trinity School of Ministry.
  9. Share what you have and be Hospitable: The next great revival is not going to be one of spectacular outward appearance but one of true Christian devotion to each other.  Christians sharing what they have with each. Believers welcoming people in their homes and loving on them with the love of Christ. Believers genuinely caring for each other. This is what the world needs to see. True revival should change our character and repel us out to reach the world. John the Baptist preached about this idea of sharing what we have. Luke 3:11-14  He answered them, "Whoever has two shirts should share with the person who doesn't have any. Whoever has food should share it too."  (12)  Some tax collectors came to be baptized. They asked him, "Teacher, what should we do?"  (13)  He told them, "Don't collect more money than you are ordered to collect."  (14)  Some soldiers asked him, "And what should we do?" He told them, "Be satisfied with your pay, and never use threats or blackmail to get money from anyone."   On one of my trips to Mauritius, I was waiting in the airport  to board my plane which would bring me back to the US. A Cyclone was expected to hit the island minutes after my plane was to leave, but it could hit sooner.  I was concerned about my family and just wanted to let them know how much I loved them. There was a business man from the States waiting for the same plane. He was a Catholic brother. He had an international phone , and I remember hearing him talk to his wife and kids on it. He had the same idea I had. You never know what could happen. It could have been our last taste of life on this side of glory. After he got off the phone, we started to talk and just share about basic personal life things. He could see the anguish on my face. The Storm was moving faster inland, and we were not sure if our plane was going to be able to leave. He reached out with his phone and said " Here call your family." I thanked him a thousand times over. I called my wife. I was able to hear the voices of my kids Andrew, Joel, Kirsten, and Rachel. I told each one of them how much I loved them and how proud I was of them. They did not know that daddy was crying on the other side of the world. I missed them so much and didn't fully know if I would see them again. Finally I talked to my precious wife and expressed my undying love to her. She had no idea either that I was crying on the other end of the phone or what possible tragic event could hinder her husband from coming home. I was so grateful to this businessman for his generosity. He truly showed hospitality to me. I shall never forget him. I still have his business card in my possession as a reminder. Give of yourself because it is not about you or I. It is about sharing our life with others.
  10. Bless those that persecute you: When I read this saying. I am reminded of the story which took place in an AMISH community. Hollywood made a TV movie about it. There was a gun man who came into an Amish school and opened fire. He killed several children before killing himself. The Amish community was shaken to the core and some of the mothers had a hard time forgiving the gun man for his horrendous act. He took their children away from them. Suddenly this Amish community did something remarkable which stunned a nation. They attended the funeral of the gunman. Nobody else attended besides a few tattered family members. They showed the mother of this gun man the love of Christ. They refused to allow the acts of one to stop them from showing the love of Jesus. This is powerful!!!!! Blessing those that have done you wrong does not let them off the hook for what they have done. It lets you off the hook from harboring unforgiveness and bitterness. Two things which can kill you physically and spiritually.
  11. Give Empathy to each other. Taken from Wikipedia: Empathy is the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings (such as sadness or happiness) that are being experienced by another sentient or semi-sentient being. Someone may need to have a certain amount of empathy before they are able to feel compassion. Giving empathy to someone means sharing in with their pain. Crying with them. Rejoicing with them. Letting their burden or blessing be your burden or blessing. This is the life for all believers.
  12. Live in Harmony with each other: I have a lot of friends which are not Christians. We joke around and have fun at work together. We are called to live at harmony with others. If people don't want to believe in my Jesus that is ok with me. It should not stop the Christ in us from being shown. When we are at work; we should give the example. We shouldn't talk bad about our bosses. We should be positive and lifting them up. We should not allow the job to become our place of discomfort. We work unto the Lord not unto men. Which means when we are not showing Christ like behavior; we are insulting God not man. We are called to live at harmony with each other.
  13. Don't return evil for evil:  When people are hurt by others; they try to lash back in hopes of making themselves feel better. Evil for evil never turns out like it is originally planned. Look at the story below.

Revenge gone bad? Man firebombs the wrong house

    Published by newsfreak
Robert Holt, 25, of Thomson (Georgia) wanted to take revenge from his ex-girlfriend. He came up with the brilliant plan of throwing a Molotov cocktail through the window of her home. On the day of execution of the plan, he did everything right, except for the fact that he threw the bomb in the wrong house!

    We live in a society where revenge and returning evil for evil is the norm. Just look at how many times people sue each other in this country. Suing is a billion dollar industry and growing. Anyone can sue anyone. If you want to get back at someone just take them to court. Christians should not fall for this trap of selfishness and evil. Believers should be the example for the world to see.  Doing evil is more than getting revenge. Evil is anything against the nature of God. It is anything against what God has designed for man kind. It is anything that we try to rationalize away but knowing deep down it is not of God.  We have built inside of us the knowing of right and wrong. Here is the scary part. When we allow evil to exist inside of us without repentance; then our hearts become cold. 1Timothy 4:1-2  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;  (2)  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
  14. Think Noble thoughts and don't let evil conquer you:  Evil is lurking. We all have to fight in order to stop the hostile take over. Fortunately we have a Savior who gives us the grace and the strength to overcome. 2Thessalonians 3:3  But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one. Our hearts are commanded to follow after purity. The Lord has been speaking more and more to me these days about purity and holiness. I am on this journey to allow the pure heart of God to take over more and more of my life.  Titus 2:6-8  Encourage young men to use good judgment.  (7)  Always set an example by doing good things. When you teach, be an example of moral purity and dignity.  (8)  Speak an accurate message that cannot be condemned. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed because they cannot say anything bad about us. Call out to purity and don't allow evil to take you over. This should be the cry of every believer.

Speaking to the Dry Bones within

Ezekiel 37

The Valley of Dry Bones
1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”    I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”
4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
11 Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. 14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’

What a powerful prophesy given to Ezekiel!!! Little did he know that the fulfillment of this prophecy would not come to pass until thousands of years later. The Living God was teaching Ezekiel something remarkable. This was a creative power which was residing within him. He was commanded to speak to the dry bones like God did during creation of all life. Once he did, the whole valley began to shake like a massive earthquake. Bone after Bone connected to each other in right sequence. Tendons began to wrap around each bone and muscles appeared. The skin grew quickly around the exposed flesh. Thousands of lifeless bodies laid there in the dirt of the valley.  Ezekiel had been caught up my the Lord's Spirit to see this miraculous event, and it would be by this same Spirit life would fill these empty bodies again. Ezekiel prophesied to the breath, and it filled the lifeless bodies. What was once a valley of dead bones was now a valley of life filled people. What analogy could be used to speak to us?

Prophetic message to us from Ezekiel 37

  • Today much of the body of Christ around the world are like the sun dried bones lying in the valley.  The power which once flowed out of many only now flows through the few. Many are like dead soldiers who were slaughtered by the enemy.  The Spirit of God patiently waits to usher us away to a place of vision and power, but many are still in the shadows of yesterday's anointing. What He has done in other places throughout time will not be the same in the place where we live,
  • God asked Ezekiel if the bones could live or come to life. God is asking us a question. Do we believe that the Church can come to a place of greater life? Our response should be the same as Ezekiel's. "Lord if you say so then it is possible."
  • There is a prophetic voice which needs to be released within the church all across the world. It is backed by God's creative power. We have forgotten the power of the spoken WORD. We are called to speak to the bones as the Lord commands and stand back to see the power of God work. If we want revival or a move of God; we have to put our faith where our mouth is. Speak to the situation. Prophesy to the dry bones or  the dead inside of us. Declare the Word of the Lord and stand back to see what happens next. Prophesy the specifics. We don't see great results in the Church because we are not praying or prophesying the specifics. Ezekiel prophesied word from word what God had spoken. There is life in the word of the Lord!
  • Breathe! Breathe! Breathe! dead things in me. Breathe! lifeless bodies and come to know the power of your God! Sometimes we have to get angry. Sometimes we have to say enough is enough. Sometimes we have to fight for the things of God and declare his glory within.
  • When we speak what God says to speak there will be results. In order for life to appear, there has to be a tremor or a shaking in the spiritual and the natural. The valley shook and the bodies were formed around the bones. We need to allow our life to form around Holy Spirit.
  • The Holy Spirit is the power which desires to come and fill His people again. Something new. Something fresh. He comes to bring life to the dry bones within us and reveal our deepest secrets. Our hearts must be revealed before the Lord in order to be fully set free.Fill us Lord with Holy Spirit so we can overcome every temptation and every sin!
What will it take to see a move of God again in our life time? What will it take to see the Church of the Living arise and take His place?

It starts with just one person. " You" Allowing God to change you from the inside out.

Gypsy Smith was once asked how to start a revival.
He answered: “Go home, lock yourself in your room, kneel down in the middle of your floor. Draw a chalk mark all around yourself and ask God to start the revival inside that chalk mark. When He has answered your prayer, the revival will be on.”

Can we see the Valley of Dry Bones in our life time? Can we see a move of God again that will shake the nations? It is happening even now as we speak. There are pocket revivals and moves of God all over the planet. We need to be one of those pockets but not be foolish about it. Many Christians run after the next big thing to only get hurt in the end. There are counterfeit revivals out there as well. We need a genuine move of God. Ezekiel did not have to question what he saw that day. It was a real move of God, and he felt it.  So what is the answer?

Bringing the Dry Bones to life:

  1. Take some chalk and draw a circle around yourself. Don't leave until the man or woman in the circle has been changed by the power of God.
  2. Repentance brings revival. Open repentance where people are shouting out to God their deepest sins and lustful desires. I speak this to myself first. We need a deep cleansing from the Lord. I am talking about one of those facials that go to the pours.  It is hard to distinguish what is right and what is wrong in our lifetime. Many have distorted His word, but it is time to get back to the WORD OF GOD.
  3. Follow the Word of God. The Word of God is Rhema. It is our compass for  life. God's word is clear about what is sin and what is destroying His people from within. He was clear in the garden to Adam and Eve, and He is clear to us today. We must run passionately towards His word again.
  4. Allow Holy Spirit to move without human intervention. This is a hard one. I have seen some pretty interesting moves of God in my time. They all started off great but then ended up with human control. We are fickle as people. We want to box up, market, and distribute everything for a price. Maybe our revivals in America take this shape because we live in a Capitalists society. Nonetheless, it happens over and over again. Allowing Holy Spirit to move means we must first die to ourselves. Letting go any desire or empathic passions to help God's move along. In other words, we need to just let it happen. Holy Spirit is better at running things than I could ever be. The reason why we have revivals or moves of God in the history books is because humans have always intervene. Why can't we have a Dry Bones Valley experience with God all the way up to His return? We can. The only way is for us to die and Holy Spirit to live!!!!
  5. Speak out and Prophesy: Prophesy is the catalyst for things to come. We need to declare the word of the Lord. We need to speak what HE IS SAYING without the spin and our own interpretation.  If you fully don't understand what the prophetic means at the time it is spoken then wait until you do. Don't try to interpret His word with Holy Spirit's direction. I use to have a guy in my church. When he receive a personal prophesy from me or someone else. He would only hear bits and pieces. Then he would interpret the way he wanted it to come out. We can't do that loved ones. That is a sign of a baby Christian who does not want to grow up. We need to desperately grow up. Ezekiel only spoke what God told him to speak. Nothing more and nothing less. Oh that we may be so obedient!
  6. Be prepared to fight: If tares can grow up beside the wheat, you better believe that the enemy will always have a counter measure to the move of God.  Sometimes he finds those within the movement to cause it to come crashing down. Azusa street was finished in three years because a scorned secretary ran off with the mailing list. We have to fight for the move of God. We have to guard what is precious and not cast the pearls before the swine. We can't forget the power of God which resides within us. We have the power to overcome any wicked device the enemy tries to throw at us.
Ladies and Gentlemen, words can not fully express my beating heart  right now. I am excited for what our Lord will do and is already doing. I don't know about you, but I desperately need Him. I desperately desire Him and I want more. I am not satisfied in my regular Christian walk. I know there is more. What are you going to do? Are you going to speak to the Dry bones within or allow them to lay in the valley without any life? The quest is left up to us.
