Using What you Have

Mark 12:41-44  As Jesus sat facing the temple offering box, he watched how much money people put into it. Many rich people put in large amounts.  (42)  A poor widow dropped in two small coins, worth less than a cent.  (43)  He called his disciples and said to them, "I can guarantee this truth: This poor widow has given more than all the others.  (44)  All of them have given what they could spare. But she, in her poverty, has given everything she had to live on."

This is one of my favorite stories in the Bible. The widow gave all she had for the purpose of the kingdom. Now I know some blood thirsty prosperity preachers love to us this passage for their demanding of funds. However, it is something more than that.  This poor widow actually gave a week's worth of pay. That is right! She gave up a week's paycheck to give to the Lord. Many people in the Body of Christ give what they can spare or give God their left overs. God is too great to get our left overs. He wants our everything! He desires all of us!!!!

If anything is clear God is looking for people to use what they have in order to bring glory to His name. So what if you are not rich?! So what if you don't have a big ministry? So what if you don't have a church building? So what if you don't have the CD of the month club? God is looking for little ole you and little ole me to rise up and be what we are called to be with what we have been given.

Have you ever met those type of people who seem to take dust and turn it into a statue of great poise and artistic beauty? God is calling us to do the same. It is not how we are born or how we die that matters; it is what we do in between which makes a difference.

I wanted to share I story of a young man I heard about years ago. His name is Nick Vujicic. He is a remarkable man who loves the Lord. Here is the kicker. He has no arms or legs. He has learned to live life without limits.

You can make a difference with what you have. You can be what the Lord has called you to be if you simply follow after His heart. The world is waiting for you. They are waiting for the difference makers.

Blessings,

Johnny
